The finances...does this sound right to you guys?

So I know I am in Miami, and EVERYTHING is expensive here but $345 per U/S does that sound a bit ridiculous?! Saying that per cycle I will basically need approx. 3 that's already $1035!!

That's not adding up that IUI are $535 (1 insemination) or $835 (2 inseminations) not including trigger or meds!

Which brings me to the point , why are they offering me 2 inseminations ? By how much do my chances really increase?

Maybe I am super naive but I think $345 per ultrasound is well whack!

I'm in South Florida as well and I was told that the cost of ultrasounds (plus blood work) would be ~$240 and each insemination is ~$475. The woman that I spoke to said that my doctor usually likes to do two inseminations, but that's optional.

@1983lindsey I am seeing an RE through a fertility clinic. And I flat out told them $345 per ultrasound is ridiculous, specially when you know it won't be less than 3!

@Milagros315 I am in South Miami as well. I go to Fertility and IVF Center of Miami. I might have to price shop, I know it sounds terrible but in this IF game every penny counts.

I am in MN. I have met my deductible this year but my ultrasounds are $21 each time.. so three - four times per cycle isn't outrageous. I haven't had IUI or any other treatments yet so I cant compare those prices.

I'm going to IVF Florida. I started there because my doctor was highly recommended for diagnosis/treatment of endometriosis and I'm pretty sure we'll stay with him if/when we start treatment cycles. It sort of has that baby factory feel when you go in for routine blood work or ultrasounds (just real quick, in and out) but I've had great experiences with the doctors and nurses when I'm alone for an appointment. I never feel rushed when we're going over my results or coming up with a plan.

The only other place I've considered is Fertility and Genetics in Plantation, but I'm not sure if I feel like switching. I'm really comfortable with my doctor and for me that's worth it, even if I found out that IVFF was a bit more expensive.

My RE is in Northern NJ, so yet another very expensive area, and I just checked my EOB....my ultrasound was $200 plus $75 for the physician, so $275. I have coverage, so this went through insurance. I know some offices charge less if you're paying OOP. Also, you can ALWAYS negotiate prices for medical treatment, and pretty much anything you want so it's worth a shot.

I paid $411 per u/s, $654 for the wash and insemination, we usually had 3 u/s done per cycle. NH is expensive:(

I am in Raleigh, NC and my doctor charges $0 for ultrasounds. I asked at my first one how much I owe and they said owe we dont charge for follow ups. The only charge I have is $550 for my IUI and then my meds. I would definitely price shop. Good Luck!

OOP my cd3 appt for us and be was $435. and then each monitoring after thay was $304.

That sounds about normal to me. I live in what I would call a median COL area and u/s at my RE's office cost $335 for the first of the cycle and $265 for each additional. IUI was $450. My doc doesn't do back to back IUIs because he doesn't think it is worth the additional cost.

$295 for IUI in Pittsburgh, but I had to do my first round of clomid without the IUI so that my ultrasound and b/w would be covered by insurance. My center gives a discounted price when procedures are not covered, I believe they charged my insurance around $375 for ultrasounds, but my OOP costs going forward will be closer to $300 for an ultrasound.
