The coolest thing.... (PIP) AW

I just got these photos downloaded onto my computer so I'm going to be an AW here.
Last week I went with a couple friends to the Wisconsin State Fair and we went and watched the Monkey show. After the last show of the day, one of my friends and I got to go "backstage" to meet the monkeys! Their trainer/owner graduated from the same school as we did (many years before us). He and his wife were so cool and we ended up hanging out with them for over an hour. His largest male baboon was sitting on his own stool with us and their baby capuchin was climbing all over us. Even though I've worked with a baboon and capuchins before, it wasn't like this! The baboon was the one who played Tom Cruise's sidekick in the movie "Rock of Ages".
These monkeys are incredibly well taken care of, and their owners refer to each other as "mommy" and "daddy" to the monkeys and they respond. as in "go over and sit with daddy" and they'll go do it.
Oh and before you ask, Ava did NOT come backstage with us. One of my other friends who was with us looked after her out in the main part of the fair. Even though these animals are extremely well behaved, I would not put my baby in any potential danger by bringing her close to them. She hasn't even been near some of our own animals yet.
