I read the book Marley and Me - and LOVED it! I loved it so much that I bought the book for my dad that year for Christmas. He liked it, but thought it painted the picture of labs being maniac dogs, etc. (I totally disagree - but to each his own...) He's also a lab guy - still gets choked up with he talks about "Jake" our family dog when I was a child who died, um...15+ years ago. Anyway - wondering if you're planning on seeing Marley & Me? We're going while on vacation over Christmas...my parents are going Christmas day (they'll have an empty nest!).
I have 2 labs now - and I couldn't imagine my life without them
They are going to be so wonderful with DS ![]()
Re: Anyone else have a lab?
We've got a black lab. I'm TOTALLY going to see the movie. And my lab is a monster. He will chew on ANYTHING. We have a hole in the leather couch from him. Bastage.
Last night, he peed on the floor for the first time in MONTHS (he's 8 months old). Just got up at 5 AM and peed. He'd been out before bed, so there was no reason. Grrrr.
But I love him anyway. Just wish it wasn't too cold to go to the dog park!
I don't have a lab, I have two basset hounds, but that book killed me! DH and I will probably go see it on Christmas because we won't be with family this year.
i don't have a lab... but -
YES, YES, YESSS! i love love LOVE that book. i've read it several times and i still love it as much (or more) as i did the first time. AND - i love jennifer aniston and owen wilson - so i just have really high hopes for it. i can't WAIT! i'm going christmas day... maybe even before we open presents! HAHAHA!

I grew up with a lab. She is 16 and is seriously my moms best friend. I honestly have come to realize she wont last forever, but we may have to commit my mom when it happens.
My parents have been divorsed forever and my mom refuses to date, so it has been her and the dog the last 10+ years of life. The last 2 it has been just them in the house. It is truely amazing what loyal and life long friends labs are.
We have a 9 month old lab - Layla. She's WONDERFUL with children. I can't wait to see her with my DC.
We're not big on going to the movie but we will see it on dvd when it comes out.
We have a 3 1/2 yr old choc lab named Brutus, and he is awesome!
Today we were stuck at home due to an ice storm and Bru cracked us up by digging out frozen twigs, he was soo mad they were stuck to the concrete!
We are excited to see how he will act with baby! I know he will turn into a "horsey" for baby to ride on, and I have a feeling the baby's first words will be "Bru Bru"
