Really late discussion sorry

I had registered for a Angel baby monitor the one with the sensitivity pad. Well last night when I was trying to hook it up I realized it's just not going to work for our needs. There are so many cords, and I just don't like turning it on and off every time I pick her up. Knowing me I will forget to turn it back on in the middle of the night. Any ways it's going back to bru. Any advice on what to get now? I would like one that charges so I'm not always buying batteries. TIA

Sorry I'm just looking for a regular baby monitor now. I did research I few months ago and thought the on I registered for was a good one but I read wrong.

  • I don't have personal experience with these items but I believe they make one that clips on their diaper.  It senses the movement of their belly, and if it stops, it will vibrate to arouse the baby.  If the baby still doesn't move, an alarm goes off.

I never had anything like that with DS1. And I'm not planning on getting anything like that for DS2 either, but I've heard of something called a Snuza a lot?

  • We have the Summer Infant Privacy Plus video monitor. It doesn't have a movement sensor, but I absolutely live it. And the best part is that it connects to my phone, laptop, etc so you aren't limited to carrying around the video monitor itself.

    That's a great idea :-)

  • It honestly does make me feel better to be able to see her AND hear her, that way I don't gave so many "FTM moments" running in there at every noise lol

  • We just had a sound monitor the first time, but this time I purchased a video/sound monitor that I'm stoked to use!  I think it's a Summer Infant dual camera/dual picture model.

I'm confused. Were you asking about a video monitor or a breathing/movement one with "angel care like capabilities"?

Sorry I didn't realize that they had movement monitors that went on diapers. So when I original asked I was looking for just a normal monitor. I figured all the movement monitors would be like the Angel one. So I guess now I'm really confused on what to get.....

Gotcha! Yeah there are a ton of choices out there. I remember being overwhelmed as a FTM!

I'm no help then, we just used a regular audio Sony baby call with DS. I never minded the constant FTM checks. Going up and down the steps to check in on him all the time melted the baby weight off! ;)

That's very true! My house is really small if I sit up in my bed I can see her crib in her room. I guess that's another reason I'm second guessing this crazy monitor that does so much.

  • Hi there, I'm from the oct boards. There is another one that is similar but without the chords. It's called safe2sleep. It's a pad that goes under the baby, not the mattress. It also synchs up to smart phones. It's suppose to measure her breathing/hr and you set the warning zones..he above this but below that. Another pro is you can take it with you if they go to daycare or if you are using a pnp on a different floor. Just an idea.

  • My IT husband did a ton of research on the baby monitor end and we ended up getting the vtech audio monitor (rechargeable) and a foscam web camera for video. He said it was pretty easy to set up as long as you followed the directions. Both were purchased off of amazon. The web cam does do audio as well but it's not that great so we don't use it for that.
