The power quads that they bought each of the kids when they turned 1. The kids love them now, but it has been a pain moving with them and finding room in the garage for them.
The Step 2 Extreme Coaster they got last winter. I cannot let the kids play in the basement any more without hiding the car - kids have been seriously injured by being ran into on the ramp by another kid going down in the car. Thanks to that toy and my nieces and nephews I have to repair a hole in our basement wall. The kids, and every other kid that has been in our house, love that thing though.
Oh man, where was that when I was a kid? The worst so far is an inflatable ball pit with over 100 balls. It's not bouncy or anything, but that many balls are annoying.
Nothing really. My parents are REALLY good with buying gifts---season passes, outside picnic table, etc. My MIL hates shopping so she usually just buys everything from kohl's or boscovs or walmart.
Not a grandparent, but my SIL gave a DD a heavy, glass snow globe that she always wanted to play with. DD was 18 months and wanted to try to carry it around with her. That was a pain. Other than that the grandparents are just really bad at repeat items(and they are aware that they are repeat items.) For example, we gave DD a tricycle for her birthday. The grandparents saw her a few weeks later and gave her a tricycle too. They see that she already has one and yet they still take theirs out of the box and assemble it. Then they told me, "Oh well, now you have two." And I get it, they want her to enjoy their gift. We just collect way too much stuff and so many repeats. When she turned one we received 4 ride on toys- one from each grandparent. Clearly it is overkill to keep all of these and if you take it out of the box and assemble it I'm going to have to donate it to goodwill instead of exchanging it and letting DD pick out something new.
My dad brought over a ride on toy and the kids fight over it. It has one of those sticks in the back for steering and DD took it out and was swinging it around...she put a scratch in the stainless steel fridge. I was so ticked! And still am every time I see the scratch.
My ILs just buy so much and it's frequently redundant and not age appropriate. Like several leap frog or v tech toys that do the same thing. They bought him the same shirt 3 times...not in different sizes either. Real metal golf clubs at age 2. Toys with eleventy million parts.
Not a problem for me. ILs buy the girls an outfit from Khol's for their birthday every year. They are a tad on the cheap side, but that is ok. My Dad has passed and my Mom is in a home, so I just buy something and say it is from her.
However, this post reminds me of my sister. She made sure to give our other sister loud gifts every year. Like musical instruments, fire trucks with sirens, etc. I don't think that the receiving sister ever figured out that it was intentional.

Oh my gawd, I'm dying laughing over some of those toys, I can't imagine having some of that crap.
We HAD an inflatable ball pit with 250 balls. It sold for $20 in my garage sale two weeks ago.
Something we still have that my mom purchased is Moon Dough. That shit is worse than sand, y'all. It's powdery, crumbly, and can't be saved it it falls into the carpet in the play room or outside as you can't scoop it up like Play-doh. Outside and when Nolan is asleep is the only time Emily gets to play with it.
Confession. I have all my AG dolls (history nerd since birth!!) plus my mom kept buying them so I'd have a full set for a future daughter. Will suck if J hates dolls.
I do as well. So far Reese has very little interest in her bitty dolls--or any dolls for that matter. *sighs*
I remember when I was a kid, my brother got a construction site play set from one of our Aunts. He loved that thing, but gravel was constantly spilling all over our family room floor. My mom was so happy when his set finally ran out gravel. My Aunt offered to send more, but my mom said, "NO Thanks!"
