Wanting to teach daughter about giving

Ok. I have a 1 yr old and 4 yr old. I want to start teaching my oldest about giving to others. I did some research and one idea I found is making creative bags for kids that include coloring books and crayons. You put that in a brown bag that is decorated. I want to make it big and get donations from family and friends. I also thought I could use her daycare for help. The daycare could decorate the bags as a project. Now, I need some ideas on how to start and get the word out. Do i make a flyer, word of mouth, Facebook, etc? Any thoughts of ideas?

I'm a little confused about the brown bags....are they like gift bags to share with their friends? I love that you want to teach your girls about giving and sharing with others, that's absolutely awesome- just not sure I understand this creative bag idea. I also want to do things like that with my son when he's old enough. I love volunteering and giving back to others, and really want to pass that passion on to my kid.
