Any pressure for a first hair cut? Do you plan to wait a certain amount of time? Is there any advise your going by to make your decisions? I know our kiddies are still young, but I'd love to hear from you ladies about your hair plans for your sons.
My kid has to get some hair before I can worry about his first haircut.
My cousin waiting over 2 years to cut her son's hair because she thought it was going to be too emotional..well the kid had a really awful hairstyle for a long time because she was too scared to cut his hair.
DS was over a year for his first haircut. Finally DH convinced me it was time because his hair was on his eyes. They look so grown up after you cut their hair.... I wouldn't rush into it! Let him rock the baby locks for a while!
My mom is a hairdresser.. When he needs it I know she's really looking forward to doing his first cut! Hopefully having grandma do it will make it an easy process.. Wishful thinking I'm sure.
I cut his hair on Saturday night! He was rocking a crazy mullet and I didn't want it in his baptism photos. I also cut a bit above the ears- they reminded me too much of Gollum from Lord of the Rings.
My son has a lot of hair and I am embracing everything about it. My DH is bald and thinks that LO needs a haircut now. I have no plans to cut his hair anytime soon! I like it too much.
Lol, look at my siggy pic. It's gonna be quite a while for us. I'll probably trim it based on how it's growing in an texture, it might be curly, for a little bit then let him do pretty much whatever he wants when he has an opinion.
my son was almost 10 months old before his first cut. it had to be done because it was all different lengths and getting a bit crazy. my girls are just bald, so they probably won't get a cut for a long time.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
I love my sons hair but when it starts looking scraggly or is in his eyes, it's time to cut it. Right now Will is sporting the comb-over/Mohawk. I want to trim it a bit but my DH got very upset with the idea. I suppose I will be waiting a little longer until I can't stand it.

Was thinking about his hair cut a few weeks ago. Since most of it fell out into a mohawk and now growing in very unevenly.. I might cut the sides and back to even out the lots of long strands of hair. Might make it a faux hawk on his first birthday!

Rhys is totally, getting a mullet too. All of his hair is falling out except in the very back. I had to change his crib sheet today, not because he peed or spit up but because he had shed so many little hairs on it. But the party in the back is hanging strong.

Your son is ADORABLE and his hair is hilarious, he looks like a little tiny hipster who has "jujjjed" his hair for hours to give it that unintentionally messy look. ;-)

M is bald right now, so we'll wait for hair to grow in before considering a haircut
BUT, I have no emotional attachment to mine or anyone else's hair. It's just hair. I can't imagine allowing it to get super long and we'll cut it when it's looking shaggy. I think his hair is pretty straight (that's what it seems like right now) so I'm not sure longer hair will look okay. We'll see!
DS got his at 3 1/2 months. It was down the back of his shirt and I kept tucking it behind his ears. He was born needing a haircut much to his bald daddy's chagrin.
