  • I'm going to be thinking about that when I try to fall asleep tonight - how exactly would that be pronounced? lin-CON-lin? lin-con-LIN?

Sorry...the English major in me coming out. It just doesn't make sense!

  • Also, "Linconlin" reminds me of Silver Bells.
You know: "Linconlin (instead of "Ring-a-ling"), hear them ring, soon it will be Christmas day..."
Hey don't ask me. I rarely make sense at 2 in the morning...

I feel better.  People keep telling me I'm screwing my kid over because he will never figure out how to spell Pterodactyl.  Apparently no one can spell anything so it doesn't matter.
This is exactly what I tell people when they're worried about the spelling of their kids' names.  My name is Kristin.  It's in my SN here on TB.  I still get *paged* with it spelled incorrectly.  My own aunt can't remember how to spell it, so she just writes Krissy on everything she sends me.
It doesn't matter how correctly you spell your kid's easy\hard name...  it'll eventually be butchered in every sense -- spelling, pronunciation, etc.
