But it makes me mad when all these girls electively induce and it fails and they just have major surgery. I am mad for them not at them. People are so cut happy today.
This is my best friend. Her first baby she was in labor like 3 hours and they did "emergency c section". I asked her why and she just said "i dont know, the dr just said the pictocin wasn't doing it's job and they took me back". She's young and it was her first and I think she just didn't know she could stand her ground. Looking back now she's pissed about it, there was no need to do a emergency c section on her.

    Here we call those tractors..

Samesies to both. It makes me irrationally mad at mil for not properly teaching H how to ring out a sponge (or washcloth).
    Yes, exactly!
my kids do this..i have shown them 65847955845 times how to wring out a sponge and they still do it! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I was waiting in line at the grocery store.  It was one of those places you stand bc there are like 4 registers in the same area, so I was waiting for the next one to open.  A really old dude was being slow taking out his stuff and kind of blocking the way - that's cool whatever, I can wait for you.  Some big ole biotch comes stormin' through to the next register.  I looked at her and said "REALLY???????"  And she wouldn't even look at me. I hate assholes.

This is why I can no longer stand people. I used to be a people person but now, I cant deal with their lack of the common sense the good Lord gave 'em!!

I got pretty pissed the other day when the hopsital sent me a bill for $700 that insurance is supposed to cover. Apparently, they've been going back and forth since June 2012 on this bill. Seriously. I think if you wait till my kid is 14 months old to bill me, tough shit.

Ive been dealing the same exact thing! I was just billed for Rylans first check up.. August 10, 2012! If I waited to pay it a year later, it comes back on me.. but they wait a year like its no big deal!

Ugh.  I totally agree with this.

Particularly when I could have used pre-tax money from the FSA to cover it had you sent me the freaking bill.

  • I HATE there is bumper to bumper traffic, and people ride up the shoulder to get by it. Or if there is a merge lane along bumper to bumper traffic and people speed to the end to get in front of that extra car or two. I am SO glad that those people's time is so much more important than mine. I hope they really enjoy those extra 17 seconds out of traffic.

The shoulder thing drives me batty.  I always wish I had seen them sooner so I could straddle the shoulder and block them.

when I was in high school I worked at walmart (suckiest job ever btw) and we were told to never refuse anyone. If the lanes were full we had to check them out even if the amount of items were over the limit.

  • Girls who just had babies that feel it is necessary to give me parenting advice.

    This seriously happened.

I had commented on FB about L not sleeping well, and this girl had the balls to tell me what she does with her newborn who is STTN- at 4 weeks. Complete with a know-it-all attitude

All I could do was to comment back and rip her a new one about how newborns should not be sleeping through the night and that she should be waking her baby to feed it. Yadda yadda yadda. She commented back. End of story.

THEN she posted the other day about her baby wasn't gaining enough weight because it wasn't eating enough. DUH! Grrrrrrrr.... idiot.

  • @Ind1013 - This actually happened one time at my store.  A lady zoomed in front of me in the express lane with a cart full of crap.  I stood there like, really?, but whatever.  She loaded all her crap on the conveyor belt, and when she got to the register the cashier (who is about 80) looked at her stuff and said, "This is the express lane.  You need to use a different lane."  The cashier made her load all her stuff up and move to another lane.  I love that old cashier :D
    That's what I'm talkin' about!

Yes, this makes me pissy at the doctors  who push it. It also makes 'emergency c-sections' sound routine for those of us who actually had emergency c-sections.
YES! I have so many people in my life that are pregnant right now and they're all going into it with an "emergency" c-section possibility being equally as likely as a vaginal birth... Just no. And when I explain that they counter with "well you had one"... I explain in no uncertain detail what the meaning of a real motherfucking emergency c-section really is. Makes me crazy that they look at it as easier and routine.
If there was a trophy given for scariest emergency C section, you @BubbaJug would be the clear winner. Your story is the definition of emergency, not this "oh I don't feel like stretching my vag" attitude some women have, or the "I don't feel like waiting around for 12+ hrs to deliver this baby" attitude some docs have.

Haha thank you, I think?? It just drives me nuts that these women go into it thinking "oh, I'll have a section or a vag baby, or a ham sandwich and a coke, all the same thing, my Dr. Said we'll see when we get there how it goes.

No. No its not the same thing. If its an option for them, they should be fighting to rip their vag open. I would have rather thrown Eleanor up than have the kind of c-section I did. But, you don't get a "would you rather...?" In a real emergency, and I think that's lost on a lot of people.

  • Emery is grinding my gears every day lately. Homegirl is just driving me crazy.

I am with you @jfresh on the book thing. So over it. But with Emery is blocks too. She hands me her block, then takes it back over and over and over. And the tantrums! Sweet Jesus  the tantrums! And lately she has been doing this fun thing where she wakes up at 4am talking very loudly and playing. Then she falls back asleep but it takes me an hour to fall asleep. Then she wakes up at 6am for the day and I hate my life right now.

I had a section as a result of a failed, chosen induction at 40w5d. I labored for 27 hours, insisting over and over that I wanted a vaginal birth and to wait as long as possible. In hine sight, I wish I hadn't been induced but it was my choice and I did it because of the pain I was in. It's grinds my gears when people who didn't experience what I did, say the choice I made was dumb. Um no, it wasn't.

    ----------------------------------

This is going to sound like I'm getting pissy, but I swear I'm not - I just want to clarify that I am talking about the ones who get induced or schedule sections early out of convenience.

I don't see anything wrong with your scenario.

I agree with you, sorry to put you in that position.  But, I can't believe that after a whole year+ of parenting wisdom we still have people pulling that sanctimommy bull crap on this board.

  • For the record... I was not talking about women who NEED to be induced for any reason, or for births resulting in c-sections due to not progressing, etc... I was talking about the mindset that c's are routine and an emergency c is commonplace.

My H does this as well.  Even more annoying is when he "cleans up after dinner."  This means that he will do 80-90% of the dishes and then leave the rest in the sink and he'll wipe down 3/4 of the countertops.  So after he's "done", I have to go finish the job.  What is the point of doing only part of the job????  It annoys me so much I'd actually rather do the whole job start to finish myself.
This is my H with laundry.  He will throw it in the washer, then "forget" to put it in the dryer so I end up needing to rewash it the following day when I see it was sitting there OR he will put it in the dryer and then throw it in a laundry basket so that it is wrinkled as hell and needs to go through again anyway.  Either do it fully or don't bother!

  • @ hijoi you are killing me today! I just spit ice everywhere reading your last one!

Today was the first day of school for my sons preschool and it annoys me when parents just push their kids in the door and leave them there screaming in the doorway! The poor teachers are standing there with 5 kids screaming and blocking the door and they can't get the other kids inside!

I have always taken Cortlandt all the way into the classroom and got him distracted with a toy for the first few weeks so that this doesn't happen! It is a very small preschool (10-12 kids per class) so it's not like the whole room is full of people!
