I'm feeling really well. We cleared out the baby's room this past week, picked up some paint samples, and threw some paint on the walls. Of the three colors we put on the walls, I'm not sure that any of them are "the one." We have to pick out a color by the end of the week because my stepdad is coming to paint this weekend. I'm excited to paint and start moving baby furniture in soon. I'm looking forward to see the nursery coming together!
Was disappointed to find out that although my insurance provides breast pump coverage, there are not many options to choose from. They offer a Medela, but it's not the Freestyle or Pump in Style, and I'm having trouble finding more information about it online. I emailed Medela over the weekend to see if the version offered through my insurance is compatible with a car adapter. I have been told by several people that I will want the option of pumping in the car.
QOTD: Best: We spent time with good friends on Friday and Saturday night. Though I get a little worn down by always being so busy on the weekend, I feel very blessed to have such good people in our lives. They are worth making time for! Worst: It's so stinkin' HOT. We took Bama to the dog park yesterday. I was so jealous of seeing Bama in the water that I took a dip in our pool for the first time this summer when we got home!
Yay for nursery time! ATX, I was also a little disappointed in how the insurance worked for me. However, I am thankful to get one. I have Cigna and did not have an option of brands. I got what they were going to send me. Bc Medela is on back order, I received an Ameda double pump. I know ameda sells the car adapter, but to be honest I haven't checked to see if mine works with it yet. It also did not come with a case. I don't know why I was expecting one, but it didn't... Lol. Probably by the time you order Medela will be back up and running at full speed.
I'm feeling pretty good but I can tell I'm rounding the corner from 8-9 months, sleep and rest is getting a but harder and I'm having BH contractions. But knowing that comes with the territory, it really doesn't bother me very much.
Best weekend: I got a 15% off coupon for BBrU over email and decided to go ahead and finish out the necessities of my registry there. The registry completion coupon is only 10% off...gap also had its friends and family 40% off this weekend, and I got the baby some super cute stuff for super cheap. So after all that shopping I have lots of laundry to do! I also had a little teeny scare over the weekend. At my appt on Friday we discussed my swelling and some headaches I've been having, but the weather has also been crazy here.... So my doc just told me to watch my Bp since it wasn't high but def higher than it usually is. She told me that I had saved myself from pre-e probably bc I've only gained ~16 pounds. I took that compliment! On sat I started to feel terrible and decided to go down to Walgreens to have it checked. It was high so I called the message line. Luckily they didn't call back right away because I went home and rested and took it again. It had gone down a bit. If it hadn't I would have had to go to the hospital. Thank goodness. The positive is that I recognized physically that something wasn't right. It went up again a bit yesterday too so I anticipate having some tests done at the docs this week just to be safe.... It never reached emergency level of 160/105, but considering it is usually 100-105/55-65, anything over 140 is troubling.

@songbird - I have heard good things about the Ameda Purely Yours. From what I know, it does work with a car adapter. I have a friend who exclusively pumped with one for 7 months and had no problems. The Ameda is one of my options and my second choice only because I think Medela accessories are easier to find. Also, i read that Medelas are compatible with the bottles we registered for (Dr. Browns). But Amazon has a bunch of stuff for Amedas. Glad you are ok after your scare. And 16lbs? Wow!
@sparkles - glad you can start nesting soon! Can't wait to see nursery pics!
My big update I posted on Thursday's PIP that we are having twins! Still in total shock, but I did just make my first "twins" purchase. I have really wanted to get the flip diaper cover (cloth diapers) in the "albert" print (it has a bunch of math/science on it and I love math/science) so I bought two matching diapers for the babies Not much else going on except a sick wife (really bad nausea) and counting down the days until our NT scan and next appointment.
QOTD: Going to the diaper store and picking out the diapers was a highlight. Worst was having my wife so sick still! I can't wait until it starts letting off... hopefully soon.
My name is A, I am wife to J. After 7 months of ttc and one MC, we are expecting two baby girls in 2014!
Sorry, this is kind of a downer update. I am 41+ weeks and STILL pregnant. I am not feeling very good. I have felt great up until last week, but it has all been going downhill since. I was supposed to be induced today, but was told the hospital is too full to admit me so we have to try again tomorrow. I am not at all comfortable with going past 41 weeks (I have a friend who lost her baby at 41 weeks 1 day). My fluid levels are now considered low (7), but not low enough to admit me I guess. Unfortunately my OB is out of town this week on vacation, so I am seeing another in the practice. I feel like I am not really a priority for her since I am not her patient. I am hoping for a miracle, that I somehow go into labor on my own today. That doesn't look very likely though.
No apologies for being downer - you have every right! Crossing my fingers and toes that you have your baby in your arms in the next day or two!
My wife and I had a great time yard saling this weekend, and found quite a few great deals. We also did a make over on a cozy coupe we found for free and gave it to my niece Tinleigh
I don't think we had any bad moments this weekend after getting out bfp on fri
I am 22 weeks and doing well. My insides feel like they are being stretched to the max. I get sore pretty soon after doing any amount of walking. I'm hoping it will get better soon!
We've cleaned out the third bedroom since we are moving Bean in there. We picked out paint (a light gray) and the painter is coming next Thursday. The furniture comes next Friday and she is super excited about getting a big girl bed!
It's nice to see some new faces over here.
@YBnormal85 welcome back!
@jrtmom I hope we see a birth story post VERY soon from you. We will be sending some positive energy your way.
I am a bit late posting this week... I have been super busy with work. I am 25 weeks and feeling good. @herbabymama I also am finding that after a 12 hour shift in the ER I am developing cankles. Luckily they go away after I lay down for a bit. I am hoping permanent cankles aren't in my future... We shall see. Little man is doing great and moving around like crazy. Not much else to report.
QOTD: we had an early baby shower with our friends this past weekend. It was so much fun! Our friends are amazing and so supportive. And my little sis came into town with her girlfriend to come to our shower. Overall it was just a really great weekend, not too may lows.

I am posting late, but better late than never right? I am 21 weeks, and my bean is growing like crazy!! I feel like he is stretching his arms and legs out, trying to get more and more room. Who could blame him though really? That is my only discomfort right now, oh and newly developed heartburn in the middle of the night. My mom swears my bump grew just over the weekend my belly button isn't as deep as it normally is. The bigger I get, the more interesting work is going to get. I am the first woman to be pregnant in my department, and I think they aren't sure what to do so they are leaving it up to me. I just want to keep growing my bean the very best I can and keep everything on the right track. This is the biggest thing I have ever done!!
