we took the express class (7 hour class that included labor/delivery; newborn care) with Amma- it was great & my hubby & I really enjoyed our teacher Meggin Carlson: https://ammaparentingcenter.com/
We've taken all of our classes with Amma and have enjoyed them. We've taken preparing for childbirth, newborn care, labor and delivery skills, and I still have breastfeeding to take.
We are taking the AMMA Prep for Childbirth and the Breastfeeding/NewbornCare combo class. Then we are taking the Birthing Intensive for Couples at Blooma. Haven't taken them yet, but have heard really good things about both and love the instructor - Bridget McGreevey at Blooma (she teaches prenatal yoga and is a former midwife with a great sense of humor).
With our first, we took the class through Regions which is still the same instructor - who I would highly NOT recommend!!! You'll do yourself more service reading books and watch some TLC shows on L&D and going for a tour with one of the L&D nurses than wasting your time there...
With our second, we didn't do any classes, we just went in with an open mind and talked with a few L&D Nurses we know and by far things went "easier" the second time around than the first because I wasn't afraid to advocate for myself. Recovery was also much quicker.
I attend Pink Kit classes which are a set of downloadable DVDs only because myself and my partner found them more convenient and it worked well around our busy schedule. Check out this site for further information www.childbirthprogram.com
We took a 2 day class at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater because it was waaaay cheaper than the others. (It's my husbands hometown, so we go there a lot anyway.)
