Update on me - what a scary week!

Hey ladies!

Sorry in advance for this being so long!

It's been a while since I've posted, I just haven't had a chance to get on TB lately but hope you all are doing great!

This has been one long week. Last Wednesday, I woke up and noticed I was bleeding. Went to the bathroom, sat down and started gushing blood. It was early that morning and I freaked out so I went straight to the ER. The doctor at the ER did a Doppler check and a pelvic exam and baby sounded good and cervix was closed. I never got to see an OB, but since I looked stable, they sent me on my way and told me to make an appt with my OB.

I called that day and I was told to come in the next day to see the on call doctor. She was stuck at the hospital and wasn't able to see me but I went in Friday to see a midwife since that was my only choice. She was absolutely wonderful though and did another exam and an ultrasound. Found out that I have a low lying placenta. The placenta is partially over my cervix but not completely.

I went to see my regular OB today and he wanted to do another ultrasound to check for himself. It turns out I not only have the low lying placenta, but also have a couple small places of sub chorionic hemorrhaging. I also had this with my quad pregnancy.

While I was there we had talked about starting me on progesterone shots. I lost my quads at 17 weeks in January, but he is debating on whether or not there's any use in doing the progesterone. He called the MFM doctor I seen with my last pregnancy and asked her opinion. She told him that if I am showing any signs of shortening cervix to start me on them, but if not there's no point. I am 14 weeks today and my progesterone level last week was 26. He is bringing me in again tomorrow to do another ultrasound to check the actual length of my cervix and we will go from there.

I know how things can change very quickly. My question is, even if my cervix looks good should I push for that extra progesterone anyways? With everything that's happened, I just don't want to go into preterm labor again. I know last pregnancy was totally different since there were four but I just have this terrible feeling that I may go into preterm labor again. I know being on progesterone isn't a sure thing of everything being ok, but I also know it can only help, not hurt.

Eta - I forgot to add that baby is doing wonderful and measuring ahead! Baby couldn't look any better at this point!
