We are leaning towards Eisley Noelle if the baby is a girl. Thoughts? It's pronounced EYES-lee. Hubby and I love it but my family doesn't seem to very much. Grrrr... Can't make everyone happy!
I like it! And my mom poo-poo'ed my oldest son's name, but she loved it as soon as she met and fell in love with her grandson . Family will have their opinions now, but once the baby is born and you name her, they won't have anything negative to say! Some celebrity named their daughter this I think.. Just a different spelling maybe?
This is the second time I've seen someone contemplate this name. I think it is a seriously terrible idea to name a child after Mos Eisley spaceport from Star Wars. "Never has there been a more wretched hive of scum and villainy." Not an association I'd want.

I don't think this is where most people are getting the name, but it's definitely my first association with it.
Ok, just looked it up. Yes it is from Star Wars. The city ( or spaceport or whatever) where Luke Skywalker lived on the planet Tatoonie. It is also the place with the famous cantina scene where Luke met Hans Solo.
Yes, I am a nerd and well technically it is call Mos Eisley and is described as a wretched hive of scum and villiany.
I am not saying don't use it, just know the name is part of the Star Wars Universe and who knows if it will be used again since they are making three more movies
I looked it up on Behind the Name and it didn't have a listing, so if the Star Wars reference is the only thing you'll have to go off of when she looks up her name....eeek. It's definitely NMS.
That said, if you love it, use it. It's your kid to name and not your family's. However...that said...I'd take their thoughts (and those of the people on the board) into consideration, because it's what people will be thinking when they hear her name for the rest of her life. Your family will come to love it because it's HER name and represents her, but everyone else will probably continue to think it.
Why was I thinking it was like an Irish surname or something? I swear I've heard it before, and it wasn't Star Wars. I don't do sci-fi. ETA: Is it similar to the name that country singer used for her daughter, Eisele or whatever? Is that what I'm confusing it with?

Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum. I was her MIL's maiden name.
ETA both Eisley and Eisele are accepted spellings of the surname, which is prn EYES-lee. It's a Swiss surname that supposedly means "cheerful"

That's what it was! THANK YOU!
ETA: OP, I still love the name. It's been growing on me more and more all evening. Can't get it out of my head.

Totally my first association too! What about Isla?
Thanks for the thoughts everyone! Not a Star Wars fan, so I never would have made that association. We still have 4 mos, so we will see... But I still like it :-)
It reminds me of the new, up and coming Nevaeh-style name Ily (textspeak initials for I love you). It does have a cute sound, though, and I am a surname fan. I say go for it, if you love it!
