Is it standard that the God Parents be Catholic?? My husbands brother is not Catholic but both my husband and I are. They are not the closest but I would still like for him to be one of our children's God Parents if the church will allow it.
Does he want to be a god parent if he's not catholic? I'd ask him. I have god children even though I'm not religious but it probably varies depending on the people, church, etc. also what do you want the god parent for? Is it just a special person in your child's life? Or the legal guardian if you both pass away? Or someone to playa spiritual role in your child's life? These also may change your answer. Hope that helps!
