2nd Trimester

What grinds your gears?!

I'm sure there are a lot of different little things that bother us expectant mommies lately so I'm going to share with you one of the things that grinds my gears and maybe you can relate and/or share one of your own!

What really grinds my gears is how many of my employees criticise if I eat one bad thing! I'm always packing lots of snacks for work more than a meal since my nausea hasn't really subsided and I always eat granola, oatmeal, veggies, fruit and drink a lot of water. Anyways one day I had a freaken cheeseburger because I really felt like one and EVERYONE had something to say! Yes I know it isn't healthy for me but to indulge once in awhile isn't the worst thing. It just drives me nuts!! Especially when men with no kids try and tell me what I need to eat ugh! Anyways I'm glad I got that off my chest lol

Re: What grinds your gears?!

  • My dad is always telling me I'm eating something I shouldn't. It makes me want to hurl something at him. Another thing is everyone insisting I'm having twins and exclaiming "Wow, you're so BIG FOR 3 MONTHS!" I know I have a belly guys, thanks.  ~X(

I hate it when people touch my stomach. I'm just gonna rub theirs back so they can see how uncomfortable it is. And its always long lost family, like your dads great aunt sister, who recognized you from Facebook.

  • I know exactly what your saying ! This is my 3rd pregnancy and I started showing very quickly and im not overweight ... any how my neighbors daughter was 7 months preg with her first when I was 4 months and my neighbor asked when Im due and said WOW YOUR BIG for 4 months my daughter 7 months and that big !!!! GRRRR It seems like when your pregnant its open season lol
  • A cheeseburger is no more harmful for you or your child than it is for them to eat! Some people need to grow up.
  • Haha I'm so glad you girls feel the same as me! I don't like ppl touching my belly either. I may be big for 15 weeks but I'm not big enough either where I want you rubbing it! Then again I don't want anyone rubbing my tummy but the daddy!
  • People telling me I'm too young to be pregnant, I know I'm 18, and I'm scared already I don't need people making it worse!! Also the rubbing my belly, I don't enjoy being touched and if you're going to make it useful and rub my back instead!

  • I'm a teacher.  I don't make boatloads of $$, but I do alright and my income is essential to my family right now. I also enjoy working. We're expecting LO#2.  People who DO NOT know how much I make, nor how much I pay for daycare tell me that I should reconsider working after LO#2 is born because I'll hardly bring home anything after I pay for daycare and their health insurance.  I'm about to ask these people if they've ever seen my bank account statements or my pay checks.  However, I know they haven't seen the latter because they'd notice my health coverage is just for me.....LOs are on DH's plan since it is much less expensive.  Oh!!! People.....they mean well, but assume so much.....

I hate when DH tells me to "suck it up" whenever I complain about pregnancy pains.
I have a pretty high pain tolerance and I don't usually say anything unless I'm in a lot of pain.
And these back aches and RLP are no joke especially when I can't do anything but ride them out (Tylenol doesn't work so well on me)
I know he's joking but OMFG does it piss me off sometimes.
  • LOL! I don't know. Everything seems to be irritating me at 22 weeks. The bad part is my mouth filter/guard has left the building. YIKES! Then I wake up at the crack of dawn thinking, "Did I really say that?"  Goodness gracious.

I am SO SICK of this too!  My finances are none of anyone's business.  I have student loans and after doing some very careful calculations with my husband, it would be easier on both of us if I went back to work because we couldn't pay our bills, even though he makes good money.

He's going to work weekends and stay home two days a week so we only need childcare three days.  Thankfully he has a job where his hours are very flexible and I do too so I'm hopeful I can work from home and maybe knock the childcare down to two days a week or even one!

  • Oh I agree!  But I was even more suprised when the first comment from my own father when we told him we are having another baby- and this will make 2 for DH and I and 1 step child - was "You're going to work yourself out of a job!"...  So do you mean I can't work after I have a baby, we don't have the money for a baby, or they will fire me because I'm having a baby.... Either way, stay out of it!
  • The latest comment I recieved was "How far along are you?" "Yeah, people usually show a lot quicker and more with the second one!".... Excuse me??  I may have a belly at 26 weeks, but I have only gained 11 lbs!!  I should be gaining more weight but was too nauseous to eat much the first bit of my pregnancy....  Thank you though.

  • People that make a comment or give me a look for drinking a cup of coffee or soda!!! If I need one I will drink one, ha ha!!!!
  • I second everyone that said people touching my stomach. My mom and my SO are the only ones that I allow to touch me. Everyone else its just really creepy.

  • Ppl are so rude! It sucks even more when it's your own family or friends. I had co-workers I got along with pretty well but some of them are always trying to give me advice and I find them annoying now! It sucks because I would consider them my friends and now I feel this way about them. I also don't know how to tell them now to touch my belly :/ they mean well and already getting my baby little gifts so I feel bad feeling annoyed by them
