Managing morning sickness at work?

I work retail, full time, and am having difficulty managing my ms. Some days its just all day nausea that slows me down, other days im running for the bathroom to be sick four or more times a day! How do you keep it together at work? Do u just throw up, brush your teeth and muscle through? I just feel that the amount of time i spend being sick is taking away from my job.

  • I have worked retail before and you have my total empathy. Right now I have a bag of animal crackers that I keep with me at all times. My M/S hasn't been nearly as bad as you're describing, but chewing on a couple of those every hour or so has kept my stomach stable for hours at a time. See if you can drink a bunch of water right before your shift, too... bonus: you will have an excuse for running to the restroom if you need to.

  • I have found that puking makes me feel better so I just do what I have to do and puke and work. I am on medication, but still get sick. I can't miss work so it's my only option. I also have ginger ale to help or oranges (they make me feel much better)

  • I wake up an hour before I have to get up for work and take my Zofran. I had a horrible week of being sick at work, and eventually going home early, to make me fill my rx. Otherwise, I would not be able to work right now. I'm still nauseous, but able to survive work.
  • I did tell my supervisor that im expecting a couple days ago because i ended up leaving work early for the second time in a week. She has already had two kids and i remembered her saying she had bad ms with her 2nd. I have zofran and diclegis, but neither helps completely. I just dont want to come off as lazy or unprofessional
  • I soo feel your pain... I have a huge bag of pretzels and drink Ginger Ale... I also purchased Mommy Wellness Earth Angel Tea that really helps with my MS.. And ginger drops... I would try those... I couldn't keep anything down before the tea an the drops.. Now I still feel nauseous but at least I can keep my food down..
    Good luck!
  • I just go, throw up, & power through. I work at a bank so it's a bit different, but same setting, customers around & other employees. It can be awkward, but I don't make it that way.
