What to do with my stash of milk

Hi All,

I have quite the stash of breastmilk in my freezer that will be good until December or so. However, I stay home with my son and will not be going to work. Therefore, I don't know what to do with all of it, seeing as it is so much easier to just feed him myself. I do use it when I go out with my husband and someone else watches him, but I am afraid it will go bad before it gets used. I wasn't successful with my first son but have managed to succeed this time around. I'd hate to have all of the milk wasted. Any suggestions?

Re: What to do with my stash of milk

  • Is there a local milk bank that you can donate it to?

  • Not that I am aware of I will look into it. I was just hoping there was some way I could maybe skip a feeding and bottle feed my son my milk without my supply dropping.
  • Is your baby eating solids yet? You can offer some in a cup or with cereal. When I give my lo cereal I soak it in breast milk instead of coconut milk that I drink.

  • I don't know how big of a stash you have, and how eager you are to donate it.  I'm a SAHM and I built a small stash for nights out.  However, DS never took a bottle.  So I'm using the stash to cook oatmeal for DS.  I know the cooking process probably destroy some nutrients, but it's still more nutritious than water.

This.  I uses a lot of BM to mix with cereal and thin purees when LO started solids.
