Discomfort already?!

I am 18w4days with b/g twins. Is it possible to ALREADY feel this kind of discomfort? Last night I had trouble breathing, like one was pushing against my lung. I just couldn't get comfortable. I tossed and turned ALL NIGHT. Now I'm sleepy and frustrated. My back hurts, my neck hurts and I'm afraid to do anything but sit here (and sitting isn't particularly useful either)!

Sorry for the rant, but I feel like this can't be real, is it in my head?

Re: Discomfort already?!

  • Its not in your head.  I started getting all kind of aches and pains much earlier than I expected. I found prenatal yoga/pilates classes helped me stretch and relax.  Also, a nice warm bath sometimes gets the kinks out of my joints and helps me get to sleep.    Hang in there - you've got a long way to go still!

  • Yep. Definitely not in your head. I remember being at my anatomy scan and asking to get off of my back once or twice because I was so uncomfortable and felt like I couldnt breath. Hate to say, "get used to it" but thats pretty much how it is. It definitely doesnt get easier. I just posted my whine a day or so ago about how miserable I am and how uncomfortable this is now, ect. Im at 32w6d and only have 5w1d max left but it feels like a lifetime!!! I want these boys to grow as long as they can/will though so Im okay with being miserable for a few more weeks, just dont expect me not to whine/complain every so often. Lol.
  • Sorry, it's real.  You just grow so fast with twins.  I was sore and uncomfortable a lot from right around where you are forward.  Get yourself a snoogle.  I loved mine.  It really helped keep thing supported while sleeping.  Kind of a pain to turn over, but you'll figure it out :)

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

  • Thanks ladies! Idk how I can keep this up for the next few months lol. I do have a maternity pillow (it is a pain to turn over lol), but I forgot it at my house. My bf and I are slowly moving in together and I've been here since Friday without my pillow AND he LOVES to treat me as his stuffed animal when he sleeps so add that additional weight to my pain lol (though he is giving me more space lol).

I have been able to work and everything just fine so far.  I've even somewhat kept up with running, even though I don't imagine doing that much longer. Pregnancy yoga is sounding great right about now. Any advice on a good dvd?

  • I feel the same way as you. I've been having pelvic pain since 15 weeks and after my fall last Tuesday, it's worse. I waddle like I did when I was 35 weeks with DD. I just ordered a support belt as recommended by my OB and I can't wait to get it. I hope it works.

Hope you have some relief soon.
