If you weaned LO by 1 year...

in Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months
how did you do it?  This isn't working out the same as it did for DD.  I just dropped down from 5 to 4 sessions.  I think I'll drop one every 2-3 weeks?  How did you do it?  What worked for you?  And yes, I want to be done nursing at a year.  That's my limit and then I want my body back.

    My limit was a year, but we continued to nurse 1-2 a day until 13 months. I started decreasing sessions around 11 months and was down to 1-2 at 12 months. DS continued to wake at night 6-8 times until he was completely weaned. 

    I finished it off by going on a two night out of town trip with DH. DS stayed with my mom, and he never asked to nurse again. I plan to do it again for my next LO when we wean.

    I work and DS goes to daycare so I was only nursing from the breast once a day and the rest pumping (3x per day, 2 at work one at night after he was in bed). We weaned about two weeks after his first bday.

    I dropped one pump per week and didn't have engorgement issues at that pace.  I saved the feeding at the breast as the last one to drop and planned that drop while I was traveling for a week for work.  So I "cheated" in the sense that I didn't have to go any refusing and by the time I got back he never asked for it again. I was worried about that weekend but it wasn't an issue. I got lucky, weaning ended up being extremely easy.
