What size backpacks does your preschooler have and what kind. The skip hop zoo ones are cute but I wonder if theyare big enough. I know they wont need a lot but wanted to gey 2 years out of it for preschool. Suggestions would be great!
DD is starting 4K this year and her supply list stated it had to be a full sized backpack. We let her pick it out and she opted for a Sofia the First character bag. IDK that we'll get more than 1 school year out of it, but even fi we don't, it was under $15 anyways, so no biggie if it doesn't (plus, chances are good next year w/e LO is into right now, it'll be the total opposite no matter what next year).
If you have a supply list that doesn't specify, maybe call the school and check? DD doesn't need any folders, etc. Only one 1.5" binder, so her backpack fits that. I'm sure it'smore for bringing art work and any papers for DH and I to look over home.

Yeah I'd wait to see what the school wants. We need full size backpacks and 1 plastic folder. Also a crib sheet and lovey for nap time. Extra set of clothes. That's it for supplies though.
DD has a Skip Hop zoo backpack and it's been big enough 90% of the time (she's had it for a year). It just needs to fit extra clothes, hair clips or headbands that don't make it through the day, and papers that come home. It does fit an 8.5x11 worksheet (if you don't mind it curling a little at the edges). Occasionally she'll come home with an art project that doesn't fit, so I carry it separately. Her nap roll is too big to fit in any size backback, so that's not even factored in.
We used a Skip Hop bag for toddler classes/MDO, and it held up quite well. But that was basically for an extra outfit and/or changing supplies.
For preschool, we used a small size PBK backpack. DD1 used it two years and is heading off to kindergarten with it. I've been very happy with the quality and bought another size small last spring for DD2 to use for preschool.
