Anyone else just want another one year old?

I want Robert to have a sibling, but I don't want another new born. Why can't I just give birth to a one year old? They are so much more fun than newborns.

Newborns are so cute, though! I saw one at Buy, Buy Baby today, crying his little head off (his parents were giving him a test run in that weird expensive egg-like swing). I waaaaanted it. If his parents weren't hovering, I probably would have stolen it.

But they are just so boring, and they cry a lot, and they don't sleep on a good schedule, and I hated breast feeding and pumping and I don't wanna do it again. I think that was the worst. DH was like just do formula, but I would have to at least try as hard as I did the first 3 months again.

Ha I go back and forth. She's really fun at this age and fun to do things with but IMO she is a hell of a lot more work than a newborn. I did hate the lack of sleep but it was nice to just sit on the couch, watch a ton of TV and cuddle with my baby. And I was very lucky and had no major BFing issues so that wasn't a problem.

So I guess I do want another newborn at some point (fingers crossed the next one is at least no worse than Dagny!) but I do think the newborn stage will be worse next time since I will have an older child to take care of too.

I could not nap when I should have, still can't. Robert was not a good nurser and the cluster feeding thing just made me insane. And imagining doing all that again with a toddler too is just overwhelming.

Yeah I've never been able to nap during the day either. But the whole tiredness of the newborn stage is why I want to wait another couple years for LO2. Especially since Dagny just started sleeping through the night when we weaned from BFing...but I already told H there is no way I'm BFing for a year next time...too tiring.

@jfresh and @andreab7412 I feel the exact same way too. In fact I loved te newborn stage so much I so badly wanted another when LO was only a few months old. Now I'm a little nervous to do the newborn stage again with a 1 year old but it will be worth it!

I agree! I want to skip the pregnancy, delivery, and the newborn stage. From 9 months on LO has been so much fun and I no longer feel exhausted.

Yup my kid was a very difficult baby up until about 9-10 months. He didn't sttn till one year.

I think overall I like this age better than the newborn age, but I think I'd still like to have a squishy newborn again. Just knowing now how fast it will all change....

I love my 1 year old, but I think I'll be fine with loving on a newborn again. I was so freaked out last time that I didn't really enjoy DS until he was a few months old.
