For those of you who had 16 week cervical checks

I was just wondering, I have that ultrasound today and I know a lot of you found out gender during that ultrasound. Did you have to ask or did the ultrasound tech just look for you? Also did they seem pretty certain about it or was there uncertainty since  it's still a little early?

  • They usually ask if you want to find out, but if you definitely don't, then make sure to let them know. And, except for DS2, the technician told me a percentage confidence (DS2 was like 98% sure of boy, DD was more like 60% girl) and that was at 20 weeks.

  • The tech asked me if I wanted to know

  • Mine asked me if I already knew, and then if I wanted to know.  She said she was 100% certain it was a boy.

Ive never had a cervical check. Even at 40 weeks.  They checked my cervix during my anatomy scan, and thats it.
Since I delivered at 36 weeks 4 days they consider that "history of preterm delivery"....so my OB has decided to check my cervix via ultrasound a few extra times. My last pregnancy I did get checked a few times early because of preterm labor issues but it always resolved and I never had cervical changes, I barely had cervical changes 12 hours before I went into labor. But thats the only reason I'm getting checked

  • I'm going today and can't wait! Time is dragging by! I just want to know what it is! I really don't care either way but I just want to know :)
  • I already knew I was having a girl because I had the MaterniT21 test. At my 16 week scan the tech was unable to confirm I was having a girl because my baby was not cooperating...she kept her legs shut!

  • My tech said we would take a brief look at the baby at my 16 week cervical check. I asked her if she would tell me the sex if the baby was cooperating and it didnt take too long. She flipped to that view and my baby had their legs open and she said it appeared to be a girl, but not to buy anything yet. The ob also said it looke like a girl, but to wait until my A/S for confirmation.

    Surprise #1!
