Pregnant after 35

Safe anti-aging products your using during pregancy?

I'm approaching 41 and was using Kate Somerville products which contain some of the no-no's you shouldn't be using while pregnant. So what is everyone using now during this time to keep your skin from breaking out and help those wrinkles!

Re: Safe anti-aging products your using during pregancy?

  • I bring all of my products to my doctor and have her check the ingredients list.

I found this really really helpful to cross reference

I am a skin care junky so this was tough.  I think the big no no is salicylic acid (which I think is in a lot of Kate S suff) but glycolic acid is fine, thank god!  I use Skinceuticals Phloretin CF which I love and my dr okay'd.  A friend works for the company (so I got for free) and it has a cult following - but it's pricey. It's a serum I wear under moisturizer during the day.  I also recently got Peter Thomas Roth Complexion Correction Pads.  Highly reviewed - used for acne and wrinkles - I don't really have acne but use it before moisturizer at night for wrinkles. I LOVE them and they have made a difference.

  • Does anyone know if face washes with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide are ok?  I know cream aren't, but I thought maybe since it's just a face wash that you rinse right off, those might be ok?
  • I'm not sure, I just noticed my face wash had salicylic acid and I just bought it prior to being pregnant. Now I need, face wash, toner and a moisturizer and I would love to get some eye cream too! I've been researching all day on Sephora for products and so far I've only found an eye cream and toner.
  • Salicylic acid should be fine in minimal amounts.  It's not like your eating it.  If you are worried at all though, I wouldn't use it.  It's not worth the added stress.

  • I use a tea trea oil face wash, witch hazel as toner and coconut oil as a moisturizer.
