How do you deal with a 7 1/2 month old that wants to play in the middle of the night? For the last week my son had been waking up and wanting to play i try nursing my dh trys rocking nothing works so we give up and let him play in his crib (its in his room) until he starts to fuss, 45-60min later. Then he's normally ready to go back to sleep. Any advice would be great!

My big thing was just trying not to play with him. As long as he was happy and occupied on his own I left him. I only offered him a bottle when he was ready to go back to sleep if he needed it. A few weeks later he was back to sleeping at night.
I think it's a developmental stage. Learning that night time is for sleep and not for play.
As PPs also said, this too shall pass. It can help to keep it very dark in the room, toys put away, and no talking, etc., unless he's fussy and you need to sing to him. That gentle environmental reminder that nighttime is for sleep should help him get past this point sooner.
Hang in there! Sounds like you're doing a great job!
