How to Pick Out Your Nursery Colors

Hello all,

I'm a little lost on where to start in regards to picking colors. I'm not sure if I should look at paint and pick out the colors I like then try to match patterns and such. Or if I should find a pattern and then try to match paint.

I'm not a huge must match person, so I'm not planning on purchasing the entire crib bedding set with matching curtins, mobile etc. But I am going to have a crib skirt made in a pattern I like, then get sheets that match the colors. (Hope that made sense)

Any rate. I'm just wondering how you all got started with picking the main colors for the room.

Thanks!

  • Figure our what your theme is & stop by Lowe's to get paint color swatches. They are helpful and even have a childproofing section.

  • Thanks Ladies. I've been looking around pinterest and have found lots of ideas but mostly for decorating. Maybe the problem is that nothing has jumped out at me as if to say "this HAS to be the nursery colors". We find out in 3 weeks if we are having a boy or girl so that might help make the decision also.
