What age do babies typically start holding their bottles without assistance?

Re: trying to remember

  • DS was lazy and didnt officially hold his until it was time to take them away! And by lazy I mean spoiled. DD holds onto her bottle when I give it to her now, but can not hold it by herself yet.

  • Mine can hold hers and get the nipple in her mouth, but she hasn't figured out how to tip it up to actually get anything out yet. She's 5 months.

  • My LO has been holding hers for over a month (she'll be 5 months the 24th), but only if they're the lighter weight smaller ones.

  • DD can hold hers, but not for long. We use 4 oz ones and they are light enough for her support, but like PP said, often she needs help because if it starts to droop she can't tip it back up to get a good flow on her own. I'm guessing 6 months?
