Dinner party etiquette Q

So we have two of H's colleagues over for dinner tonight. (I'm upstairs pumping so don't worry, I'm not being totally rude.). They very nicely brought dessert as a hostess gift. I also made a dessert, though. What do I do? I should serve both, right?

  • If yours isn't already out I might just serve theirs, that way people don't feel like they have to choose one over the other. If yours is out or has been seen or mentioned, I'd just serve both.

    I second this.

    Agreed.

  • More is always better! :)
  • Thanks guys.  I ended up serving the dessert they brought and now I have a delicious bonus dessert for tonight.  Who wants cherry cheesecake?  :)
