Babies: 3 - 6 Months

working Mommas

Anyone else just recently go back to work? My son just turned 4 months. I went back last week. Am working 3 days at office. Its hard. I miss him but hoping things will get easier.

Re: working Mommas

  • I'm a teacher and I went back to work for 7 weeks at the end of the school year.  It was rough for the first week or so but as I got into a routine, it got easier.  Now that it's the end of summer, I'm dreading the fact that I'll have to repeat the whole process again.  I think I'm dreading it even more this time because LO will be going to daycare instead of staying with my mom.  I keep telling myself that this will be harder for me than it will be for her and that the interaction with other kids will be good for her.  (Plus some adult interaction will be good for me!)  It doesn't make it any less heartbreaking though.  Hang in there, momma!  We'll get through this!

I am sure the daycare will take great care of her. I think you nailed it when you said its harder for us then them. It just sucks! Im not crying everyday or anything, just feel a little empty. on days i work, i leave at 730 am and dont get home till 630. Just long day away! good luck! Its funny my MIL is watching and i am afraid he will like her more and sort of wished we were using day care. the grass isnt always greener on other side and we  have to appreiciate what we have! easier said then done of course. I am counting down hours left now, 3 more to go till i can snuggle with him!

  • I am also a teacher and went back at the very end of the school year. My lo stayed home with my husband because he was able to take leave. I have been home with him all summer but recently had to start going to trainings. My lo started daycare 3 weeks ago and absolutely loves it! Knowing that he loves daycare so much has made going back to work easier!
