Boba Wrap ? Baby Carriers ?

I just purchased the Boba wrap and am having a hard time getting comfortable using it. Does anyone use it with their LO now at 7 or 8 months old? How did you get the hang of it? I feel like she isn't tight enough or secure for me to be comfortable to actually move around and get things done around the house.

We have used a backpack carrier for outings (Zoo, walks, etc) from Walmart and she loved it but has out grown it and I had heard great things about the Boba wrap so went with it.

I am thinking I should return and try something else possibly? Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi,I haven't used the wrap styles but I have an Ergo and love it. It is really comfortable and no back or shoulder pain. It can be worn 3 ways,front facing in,hip or back. :) The Attachment Parenting board has really helpful advice on carriers if you want to ask there as well.

    Agree with Lollydoll that stretchy wraps don't work as well once your LO gets heavier. I have a woven wrap and love it! Wovens are great because they are very versatile. I used mine in the NB stage and would do a front carry. Now that she is older, I will put her on my back. The learning curve is bit more, but I really do love them. Also they come in beautiful colors and patterns. A bit more expensive, but you generally can find them used in good condition online for cheaper.

    We also have an Ergo and a Maya Wrap ring sling. I use all 3 carriers quite often, but for different purposes. I love the Ergo when I know DD is going to be in it for a long time, like a museum. I use the ring sling a lot when I have to take her in and out of it. Like a quick trip into the grocery store or farmers market. I use the woven wrap a lot when I need to get things done around the house and I have to be able to use my hands. I have prepped dinner, pruned the roses and lots of other chores while wearing her.

    Yeah, I don't think stretchy wraps are very comfortable past like 12-15 lb.  I would definitely recommend a woven wrap, or a soft-structured carrier like Tula, Kinderpack, Ergo...there are a few more too.
