Preemies

Ugh! First cold.

Well we made it 17 months, it was a good run! DD has gotten her first cold and panic is setting in! So she started with a cough yesterday. Acted normal, eating, sleeping, playing all normal. She has nothing other than an occasional sneeze with clear drainage. My question is should I wait it out see if any other symptoms pop up in which case I would call her pedi or call now? I don't know if I have to be as hyper vigilant as when she was younger. Cough is dry, no congestion in chest, no respiratory issues.

Re: Ugh! First cold.

  • I'd say if you're concerned, go ahead and call. Odds are they'll tell you to just keep an eye on it -- and if you start dealing prolonged/elevated fever or any difficulty breathing, to come on in. I'm amazed you made it this far -- way to go mama! :)

  • Thanks ladies! I am lucky enough to stay at home with DD so I am able to control her germ intake during the height of the seasons ;) Your responses are exactly what I was thinking, just let it run it's course. Just reassuring hearing from other preemie moms! Thanks again and Boston that picture is toooooo stinkin cute!!!!!
