Very cute idea! We got a big sister shirt for DD to wear when we went to family get-togethers the last few weeks. Nobody noticed, though, so we had to ask them if they liked her shirt to get them to read it. It was fun watching their reaction when they finally got it!
We will announce after the NT scan as well, although close friends and family already know. I bought a big brother shirt for DS...actually I have a picture of him in it all ready to go. Two weeks left
I bought a shirt for DS the front says "shh i have a big secret" back says "i'm gonna be a big brother" going to announce it at the end of his birthday party in september by having him change into it after cake. That way all of our loved ones will be there.
Most everyone that needs to know knows... however we are planing on doing a Facebook announcement most likely next week... not sure how we are going to do it. MIL bought DS a tshirt that says big brother on it, so we will most likely get a cute photo of him wearing the shirt.

We're not doing cards or anything. I'll do birth announcements after the baby is here.
We're planning to tell our parents/siblings after our 12wk appointment on Aug 26 (though I have unofficially told a couple of friends already). The rest of our friends will find out at the end of first tri, either in person or by email, depending on whether we have plans to see them around that time, except for one friend who I will text because we don't really email.
Work will find out sometime after first tri - I am hoping to hold off until October if I can. Extended family will find out through the grapevine. FB will know either a) when someone tags me in a photo further down the line and I look visibly pregnant, or b) when I post baby pictures.
BFP with #1 (twins!) 11/18/2011 - missed m/c at 8weeks3days; d&c 1/19/2012; myomectomy to remove 18cm+,10cm & 5cm fibroids 4/2012; TTC again 7/2012; BFP #2 (twins) 11/13/2012; missed m/c at 7weeks;
BFP #3: baby girl born 3/5/2014
We went ahead and told family and close friends yesterday and we are just letting the news spread from that point. We decided when we were comfortable letting everyone know was the right time to tell everyone.
We have already told a few close friends and my school advisor and are telling our parents this weekend since they will be in town. We got a cake that says 'lastname party of 4' and DD has a big sis shirt. We will probably tell other friends when I'm in 2nd tri. I'm so excited to tell my mom and dad, it has been so hard keeping it a secret!!
Due 3.27.14 (lame because I cannot figure out how to save a fun ticker.....)
Our close friends and family already know, and that's how it's going to stay for a while. We'll likely announce to FB around Christmas which will be right around the start of third tri. If my dad subsequently wants to start spreading the news to his family at that time that's cool, but I will not be stressing if people find out via FB first and are upset.
Since everyone knows about our loss last time, I think our FB announcement will be an u/s pic and put something to the effect of "After every storm there is a rainbow of hope. Our rainbow is due to arrive in March 2014".

We just told most of the people close to us without anything cutesy. For DH's sisters, we sent them a picture of a bib that had a shamrock embroidered on it.
Whenever/if ever we announce on FB, it will probably be a pic of the bib with "for this child we prayed" 1 Samuel 1:27.
ceh789, My in laws are put of town and last time we delivered flowers in a mug that said 'best grandma' and 'best grandpa' and the card said 'effective May 2012'. I would have died to see their faces! It's hard to tell such exciting news long distance though.
Due 3.27.14 (lame because I cannot figure out how to save a fun ticker.....)
When we announced to our parents, we had made shirts for our dogs. The one said "Big Sister" (she's the oldest), and the other shirt said "I'm going to be a big sister in March."
I had a shirt made for dd that says "I'm so darn cute my parents decided to make another" she will put it on at the end of her birthday party and we will see how long before someone notices it
Immediate family and a few close friends already know. I have a cute picture of DD in a "I'm going to be a big sister" shirt and after the NTScan on Wednesday if all is well I'll send the picture out to other friends. I'll tell my boss next week and then after 13wks I'll probably post the picture on FB.
Married my love 6/11/11 | MMC 10/11/11 | Eliza Frances born 9/18/12 | Rhett Garland born 2/24/14
Our close families and friends already know. I have my 12 week US in two weeks and if everything is good we may post something on Facebook, but that isn't a priority for me. Like someone else said, I don't know if I'm ready for all the attention. DH is ready to shout it from the rooftops but I keep holding back because I don't want to be bombarded with baby/pregnancy questions from everyone that knows me. Our parents have known for 3 weeks and I'm already sick of the "how are you feeling?" questions, and the special treatment. I appreciate that people care but I don't have a terminal illness, I'm just pregnant and sick!
We told our parents/siblings this weekend (so exciting!). We put a "Big Sister" shirt on our dog. My mom got it right away! We'll tell close friends after the NT scan. I don't think we'll do an official announcement on FB - if we do, it will be 20 weeks or after.
This will be the first grandchild for my MIL and FIL. We bought matching mugs for them that say "The best moms (dads) get promoted to grandma (grandpa)." We are giving them to them on grandparents day.
i announced several weeks ago. i just posted on fb. i am pregnant again. nothing special

A few people know and somehow more people are finding out but I'm not sure when it how I will announce to "the world" because of the poor reactions I got from the people who already know maybe I'll just wait and let people figure it out on there own....
We are incredibly boring and just call our families to tell them. We told a few close friends in person as we saw them. In another week or two I'll probably post something on FB about it being DD2's turn to be a big sister.
Mama to two sweet girls DD1 Feb 2010 DD2 Sept 2011
I'm trying to draw as little attention to myself as possible and let the news spread on its own. As far as FB goes, I'm not really planning on anything, but if anything, I might post a picture of tree ornament or stocking at Christmas.
Our close family and friends already know. For FB I was trying to think of something cute to do with pumpkins since I want to announce in October, lol. We own a pumpkin farm so I sort of want to do a "daddy, mommy, Cate and emily" pumpkin with a tiny "baby #3" pumpkin. Don't have it all figured out yet, but I thought it would be cute. I didn't do anything cute on FB with the girls, just sort of a "Oh yeah BTW we're having twins" thing.
After 2 years, Injects, PCOS diagnosis and 2 IUI's, we were blessed with our beautiful twin girls! Baby Girl #3!
Kristen61607 what about something like this? I mean, you would do two outside and one inside? This is one of the ideas I wanted to do.. Im still up in the air, and we wont FB announce til at least 20 weeks.
Hi everyone I'm excited to join a group going through the same things as me and hope to make new mommy friends
We are having a surprise party with all our family and friends mid September. No one knows yet! I just wanted to wait until I was out of 1st tri. Its been fun actually planning a way to announce since with my first born we were just immediately thrilled and told anyone who would listen right away lol.
We'll probably get a professional pic taken with a balloon and our due date written on it and put it on Facebook when we're ready (11 or 12 weeks maybe?)
I'm a photographer so I'm trying to think of cute pregnancy announcement pic ideas. I've shot a few for clients, which was fun....so much harder to come up with a good idea for myself.
We got a red sox onesie and will take a pic of us at the game next week with the onesie as our announcement. MH is big into baseball and all our family lives around Boston, we are the lone soles on the west coast.
My niece and nephew think babies happen from me eating special seeds from my hubby. So I bought seed packets and gave to family with due date and cabbage patch head. Kids were excited to get a cousin!
DH and I just got married 2 1/2 months ago. We ordered picture books of our wedding photos for both sets of parents and are having our photographer add a sonogram pic to the last page. We will be giving these to our parents when we hit 12 weeks. Four more to go!!
We have a photo of our dog posed like she is reading What to Expect When You're Expecting. I want to announce shortly after our anniversary, so I will likely post the pic on fb and caption it something like "for our anniversary gift this year, Emma is learning to read."
For my MIL and Dad, I want to give them a plum (or whatever fruit I am that week) and when they ask why, I will say "just thought you might want to know how big your grandchild is."
