Thursday I could see LO's gums were swollen, and I thought "oh boy, here we go again!" He was in good spirits though, so I was hoping he'd breeze through these two. Not so much.
He woke up Saturday and barely ate. I thought he was warm and took his temp - 100, so not much to worry about. Then he completely refused his next 2 bottles. I called our doctor and he said they usually just tell people to watch their child closely for 48 hours when they have a fever, and to make sure he was wetting diapers every 4-6 hours at least.
LO slept pretty well, waking once to eat a few ounces. When he woke up, I took his temp - 102.7. He was completely lethargic all day - would barely play, and just wanted to be held. He whimpered constantly, and it was almost a relief when he would cry. I got him to eat by putting formula in a medicine syringe and squeezing it into his mouth. He had maybe, 10oz all day. He did eat some solids - I tried to give him really watery fruit purees and mixed formula with that too. He's staying pretty hydrated - just hope he gets some rest tonight.
I'm thinking this has to be more than just teething. But I noticed tonight that his left center incisor has definitely cut through, and the right side is not far behind. Has anyone else's LO had such a go of it with teething? Or could this just be a terrible coincidence of sickness + teething? Either way, if he's not better tomorrow, I'm taking him in.
Just curious what others have experienced - thanks for reading and sharing!

Re: This has to be more than teething, right? (longish)
He might be dealing with teething also, but that fever is too high to be solely teething. I'd definitely go see the doc.
