Anyone interested in a weight-loss check in?

I've friended some of you on my fitness pal and will resume that this week, but I thought it may be nice to have a checkin for this trying to lose weight.. We can share tips workouts, recipes etc..

This is entirely selfish. I'm really so overweight now that its depressing me. Id like some encouragement ( and to provide some to others).

Anyone interested?im thinking Mondays? Would another day work better?

  • I started with myfitnesspal but I had to stop.  It's too much stress to be a happy and sane mommy while trying to lose weight right now.  I'm trying to buy and cook healthy foods and I'm hoping the weight naturally comes off.  Honestly, even though I am 30lbs heavier than my prepregnancy weight, I still feel good.  It's the pressure from others (not DH thank God) that makes me really want to lose the weight.

  • I am! I currently can't fit into any of my pre-preg clothes and I hate it. I'm 10 lbs over my previous weight but my pants barely come up to my thighs, ugh! The hardest part for me is finding time to work out. My DH is gone for work a lot so there is no one to watch my LO.

  • I'll play! I'm only halfheartedly trying to lose weight, but I should be more serious about it. I'm 6 lbs away from PPW, but my PPW was about 10 lbs over where I like to be normally, so I've got a ways to go. A little accountability would be great.

    When LO hit 2 months I decided it was time to pull myself together a bit, so each week I added in a "real person" task to my day. The first week was that I had to make dinner every week night (or at least know what dinner was going to be, even if it wasn't ready when Husband got home), and I did that. The second week I had to keep doing dinner but I also had to be showered with my hair done and makeup on by the time H got home. That was great because it made me feel like a real person, not some dumpy slob who husband doesn't want to come home to. This week my goal is to do dinners, look presentable and ALSO get in 30 minutes of some kind of exercise. I'm being real lose with this- anything active counts, including walks or crunches while LO plays on her activity mat.

  • Yes!!!! I have 40lb to lose between 2 babies in 17 months and wonderful IF drugs.


    TTC#1 for 19 months with PCOS and MFI IUI#3 + injectables = BFP!!!!  Beta#1-134(13dpiui) Beta #2-392(15dpiui)

  • I'm interested. I'm BFing so I'll be taking it slow but this might motivate me to eat healthier if nothing else. I'm about 14 pounds over my PP weight but would like to lose 18lbs.

    I like Allie's idea of setting little goals to achieve each week.

  • Sounds like it is a go! I'm excited!! I have about 50 lbs to lose total ( I was overweight before LO) so this will be great!

  • Im in! Ive lost the baby weight, but none of my pants fit and I was overweight before baby so Id say I have a good 40-50 lbs to lose.

  • Since a few people like my weekly goals, here are the other ones I've thought up for the next few weeks:
    Take baby on a walk.
    Clean one room of the house.
    Do an instructional online video lesson (I'm interested in Duolingo the language learning site and CodeAcademy the basic coding tutorial).
    Do a bit of a photo book or scrapbook or some other way to document memories.

    This sounds like exactly what I've been trying to do!! I was successful with dinner around the 2 month mark aswell , I usually shower when DH comes home but putting myself together before he gets home would be nice. Its not as hot as it usually has been here in NY so walks are more manageable! 

    We can do this ladies! Every little bit counts!

  • Oh I would love to join! I'm on myfitnesspal too same name evelyn602. I gained about 40lbs when it was all said and done and I was already 10-15lbs where I wanted to be when I got pregnant so I had 50lbs. I'm 13 weeks PP and I've lost roughly half of it but need the motivation for the other half. I go back to work in 3 weeks and need to be able to wear big girl pants regularly now.
  • I'm in too! I have about 15 lbs to lose but more would be better. I might join WW online after this week because we are on vacation and can't resist fried clams and soft serve in Cape Cod :P

    I found a walking buddy & we motivated each other to walk almost every night.  I had previously done the old WW program, so I had all the information & started doing it on my own.  It helped a lot having family & friends to hold me accountable.  I love the idea of making weekly goals!

  • Count me in. Great idea. I am 5 lbs under my pp weight but needed to lose weight before I got pregnant. Also my pp clothes don't fit. I think because in not as fit. I had to stop working out due to sciatic pain while pg. and it's like my a$$, hips and waist are this new soft craptastic shape.

    you'd all have to look at it until February.

  • I'm interested! I've been working really hard to lose some weight. I was working with a personal trainer but needed to stop seeing him for financial reasons so I'd like to keep motivated with you ladies. I'm also on my fitness pal. I'd like to add you guys as friends if you're using it. Should we start a new thread with our usernames for those that are interested or is this something that was already done?
