Me-Vacation!

Back in April my BFF and I started talkng about taking a weekend just the two of us. Just us girls. We live long distance from one another so we rarely see each other. While our H's are both kind of worried about us going off so far away by ourselves, we finally cemented our plans beginning of July.

So anyway, I leave Thursday to meet her in my hometown Memphis. Then we'll take her car to our paradise getaway. Lol! We'll come back to Memphis Saturday evening. Not sure yet whether or not I'm going to drive on home that night or detour to see my dad on Sunday and get back in time to pick up SD from BM Sunday evening. DH has to work Thursday and Sunday, and with him working 24hr shifts, that puts a lot on our sitter. So I'll just play that by ear on how I feel after being away from my babies - human and furry alike - for so long.

DH is actually being super supportive of me taking a vacation with my BFF.I honestly thought he would start to rain on my parade, but he said he is really glad I am taking some time for myself and that I deserve and need it. He is more concerned about me going out of state alone, but I am more worried about leaving my house and kids and pets to someone else, even if it is my H. Lol. The control freak in me is coming out. I started scrubbing the house today. Lol

  • I'm glad you get to get away. You deserve it! I totally understand the control freak part. I never leave so when I went to have the baby I had crazy anxiety because I wouldn't be home to run everything.

  • I really am super excited. We won't be doing much. Just sitting in her Aunt's cabin because the gas is going to break us, but we will have plenty to drink. I talked to my dad last night and told him and he said this is LONG overdue for me. Lol!

I have been working on building my independence lately because I have begun to realize just how co-dependent I have become of H. He is glad to see me doing some things on my own. And it is making our home much less stressful. I keep forgetting just how young I really am and how much I still have to grow my own. And honestly, DH and I enjoy each other much more when we have our own lives besides ours together.

So here is to a happier future!
  • Oh and DH bought me a new phone last week. Mine was freezing up on me and during of for hours at a time and taking funded minutes to start dialing a call and other miscellaneous misfirings. Last well it froze up before my alarm went off and I was almost late for work. He told me there was no way I was going to travel without a reliable phone, so he went a got one for me that day and had it ready when I got home from work.

Loving the way the new mobile bump format works on this phone.
