Graco lauren crib and Ikea dresser

I am so disappointed. We are just putting together nursery furniture and ordered the Graco Lauren crib in espresso and got the Ikea hemnes dresser in black/brown after seeing so many people post that they matched perfectly. Well the crib looks more like a cherry wood (looked much darker in the store display model) and doesn't really match the darker dresser. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hmm I think they may have sent the wrong one because ours was definitely a dark brown and not a cherry wood when we had it. I'd take it back to wherever you got it and let them know they gave you the wrong color.

It's not as light as the rustic cherry. It is darker but with red shading throughout, more areas than others. Frustrating

Hmm that's weird. It's kind of hard to say without a picture. Maybe that one wasn't stained right or something I have no clue but ours looked exactly like the picture & display.

The crib does have a slightly more reddish tone than the dresser but as long as they aren't right next to each other, you don't really notice. We have this combo in DD's room and it looks great. They are just on opposite walls. Also, the dresser makes a really great changing table.

All of this. The difference is hardly noticeable. I've asked my sister and BFF and neither of them even noticed until I asked.

Dye, stain, and finishes are mixed in small batches, so sometime batch to batch the can vary some.
