Hospital Bag...

Anyone else having a hard time doing anything for a hospital bag? I've started leaving my toiletries out on the bathroom counter and my nursing tank out to quick toss in a bag, but I can't even imagine trying to pack a couple pairs of pants or tops bc I still want to wear them in the mean-time. I feel like with DD I had at least something started by this point, but this time, I have zero motivation to even try.

Re: Hospital Bag...

  • I feel the same way. I need to at least write a list so when I'm running around crazy I can make sure I have everything. It's like "I don't want to pack those shorts yet because I wear them every other day." It has motivated me to keep on top of laundry. The funniest part is I have a RCS scheduled but I have an irrational fear of going into labor early.

  • I am with ya. DH and I started packing the hospital bags...we got the babies done, his done but mine is where we are having the problem. I still need my make-up essentials, maternity clothes and hygienic stuff..... We are contemplating just buying extra make-up, body wash, deodorant, etc for the hospital and I will just use the extras when I get home...

  • I just have a list of things I want to pack so when I'm in labor I can just quickly check off the list as I pack. I did raid my travel size stuff and put together my toiletry kit so I have that in my bag, a nursing bra, and some slipper socks otherwise everything else will just be thrown in that's on my list.

  • I feel the same way!  It's like why would I want to give up my comfort for the next 4 weeks just to pack this bag?!  I've put as much as I can and will hopefully happen to have the rest clean when I do go into labor.

  • At this point I figure worst case, I'll grab a pair of the hubby's pj pants, my nursing tank, and a robe or sweatshirt into the bag along w/ my few toiletries and then send DH home sometime that day or the following to wash and bring me my comfy clothes so I feel more human.

  • I will get around to it eventually, but like others said, I don't want to give up my comfort yet. With DS1, my water broke at 37wks before I had any contractions so I did laundry while laboring at home....because my water gushed in the only comfy pants I had left that fit me!

This was me exactly. I just happened to be wearing my favorite fleece comfy pants when my water broke and gushed. Went to the bathroom, changed undies and pants and put a pad on while I sent DH off to shower bc he said he felt he needed to since he worked the night before. Put on my next set of comfy pants, leaked all over those, lol. Maybe I can get a shopping trip for comfy pants out of it this time just to "be prepared". LOL.

  • Mine is packed with a piece of paper on top with the things that still need to go in ( hairbrush, comb etc...)

  • I'm still pretty early so I haven't begun packing yet at all, but I did make a list. I taped it to the wall so there's no way we can lose track of it. I left extra space where we can write things in as we go along. Plus with the list, dh can pack for me if things happen sooner than expected and before I'm all packed.

  • I packed mine after my water broke. I didn't really have anything packed ahead of time. It was fine, I barely used anything I packed anyway.
