Typically on two meds for migraines, now nothing. I am having my first since coming off my meds about 10 weeks ago. Any one have this? Almost can't cope with the pain on top of my MS.
I'm sorry, migraines are the worst. Maybe try drinking something with a little caffeine. That's what I do when I get a headache when pregnant and Tylenol just isn't cutting it.

Thanks...I did. And Tylenol which I knew wouldn't do anything but was hoping. My dr had said some women don't have them while preggers so I thought I was in the clear...
So sorry you're having one. I had one a week ago, and it lasted just under 24 hours. I only took paracetamol and did head and neck ice packs. I also stayed in a dark room and tried to be quiet. Hope yours passes quickly.
I had them the entire last pregnancy (and I am beginning to have HAs this time, too). I eventually ended up taking Tylenol #3 that my physician wrote for but it was during 3rd tri. The benefits outweighed the risks. Definitely something to talk over with your dr.

I got my first one since being pregnant yesterday and it was bad. The only things that worked were sleep, darkness and taking 2 Tylenol - which normally wouldn't do anything (I've always been on perscription) but it did yesterday thank goodness.
I get terrible migraines too and use tiger balm (you can get it at CVS, target, etc). It's an ointment that you put on your forehead (use a little especially the first time). It works wonders!!!
Have you tried Excedrin Migraine? My doctor told me it's safe to take. I find it much more effective than Tylenol. Ice packs also work wonders for me. Hope you're feeling better.
Me: 35 | Him: 35 G born 10/25/12 | H born 3/25/14 TTC#3 since 7/2015 Early loss 12/2015 most likely due to low progesterone Began medicated cycles (Femara/Ovidrel/Endometrin) with TI 1/2016 BFP 3/22, EDD 12/4/16 ~ It's a GIRL!
Lurker jumping in because I know how awful it is - I typically take Amerge or Relpax or Maxalt for my migraines and obviously, I can't do that now. I had my first pregnancy migraine at about 7 weeks, tried Tylenol, a coke and finally Tylenol with codeine (which is okay during pregnancy). None of it worked so I went to my neurologist who gave me a magnesium IV and that knocked it right out! Magnesium is perfectly safe during pregnancy and other than feeling a little weird and woozy, I was fine. You can also take 1g (that's 4 250mg pills) of magnesium and try to knock it out yourself.
I'm no doctor so check everything with yours but that's what works for me.
IVF 1 - March 2012 - BFP - lost baby at 20 weeks
IVF 2 - September 2012 - cancelled - no response - ridiculously high FSH
IVF 2.1 - October 2012 - never even got off the ground
Spring 2013 - DE hopeful
Thanks for all the suggestions. For some reason my doctor said to call in when I get one, but of course this weekend I couldn't, going to ask about all these things tomorrow. I am glad I had no axert or maxalt in the apartment or I would have taken them....I need to be prepared for the next one.
Pre baby #1 I was on a daily preventative drug and maxalt when I got them. First pregnancy and nursing by body was nice to me and I only had like 3.
Since stopping nursing and now getting pregnant again I have been so lucky. Used up all my maxalt in my month between being done nursing and the period before we got pregnant. Now I've been getting lots of headaches (like 3-4 a week that last all day) and a couple of migraines mixed in there. Boo I was told not to take maxalt. Tylenol at least keeps them in headache division rather than letting them ramp up to a migraine most of the time. Dark room, ice or cold washcloth and I've also put peppermint oil on my head. I know my OB said if the migraines kicked into high gear, she can at least prescribe an anti-nausea to go with the pain meds, but we haven't gotten there yet.
yes. it is terrible. I cant take any of my meds. I had migraines 4/5 days last week. i was crying at work i couldnt function. i have an appointment with a neurologist on the 22nd. i used to do acupuncture but i work 12 hours a day now and there are no places around me open after regular working hours. i am miserable. My migraines have become 20X worse since becoming pregnant

Execdrin Migraine has aspirin in it, which is a no-no during pregnancy. Excedrin, Excedrin Extra Strength and Excedrin Migraine all have aspirin. Excedrin Tension Headache and Back and Body are fine because they are just acetaminophen and caffeine. I would be questioning this again with your doctor
100%. Acetometaphein is the only widely approved pain killer during preg And even that - most doctors suggest no use during the first trimester.
