Mirena? *update*

Hi ladies! I posted this ? on the breastfeeding board but haven't received any help so I'm reaching out here too.
Has anyone heard of the Mirena causing a decline in supply? I know the facts about it being localized and supposedly staying in the uterus. However, I got one placed a week and a half ago and now my milk is all but gone. Before this, I almost had an oversupply. I was able to pump 6-8 ounces at a time. Now I'm lucky if I get a few drops.
I had my dr. take out the mirena, but I'm wondering if my milk will come back. I have to work this next week and I'm devastated over having to give my baby formula when he has always been EBF. I know formula is fine, but I love breastfeeding so much!

Edited to say- I should have said devastated to not be able to breastfeed. I know that there is nothing wrong with FF and I hope I didn't offend any of you FF mommas out there!!

*update* I saw a LC on Sunday who was not surprised to hear about my situation. She said that she's heard of it before and that it is possible to get my supply back up. All weekend I've been eating oatmeal like crazy, taking Fenugreek, and drinking Mothers Milk tea and I think it's coming back! Yesterday I was able to pump 10 oz in 2 sessions! However, during the late afternoon my DS was still hungry after eating so I'm not there yet. Thanks ladies for your support!

    I know, it's very extreme, which is why I'm almost positive it's the Mirena. Nothing else has changed. I noticed over the last week that he seemed hungrier than usual but I didn't realize I had a supply issue until I tried to pump and couldn't get anything. Sometimes when he eats he seems ok, sometimes I have to give him another ounce or two from my very small freezer stash. Ive never had to do that before. I'm going to have a weighed feeding today to see how much he's getting. I just want my high milk supply back :-( I got some fenugreek on Friday night and have been downing tons of water and pumping after each feeding but nothing seems to be helping.

    So sorry to hear this! I love breast feeding my LO too! I got Mirena mid July and my supply seems unchanged. I heard it may take a week or so for fenugreek to kick in. Keep at it and I hope things turn around!

    Sorry to hear this. I get my mirena placed tomorrow. I don't think losing supply is a common side effect. I hope not because I love bfing LO!

    I just started the mini pill and my supply has tanked as well. I did get an RX for Reglan and that seemed to be kicking in this morning, but it was frustrating since I had tried lots of water, fenugreek, and old fashioned oatmeal. It's my 4th day of Reglan. Maybe you could get an RX from your doctor tomorrow and see if that helps.

    Have you looked at your pump? Replaced membranes, etc?

    Yes, I've even tried 2 different pumps, a double electric and a manual. I saw a LCD consultant today and she confirmed that even though its rare, the Mirena can deplete women's supply. She thinks I can eat it back up again but I wish I had known this beforehand.
