kind of makes me want to consider a school with uniforms. She has lived in Crocs since she was walking (fuzz lined during the winter). She did venture into the world of flipflops a tiny bit this summer but her school doesn't allow flipflops. As a result, the child has one pair of shoes for school, a pair of purple Crocs. So we've been shoe shopping. Five stores yesterday, at least 5 more today. She is looking for ones that light up and are purple and all we're finding is glitter covered or pink Disney princess. So today I finally find the perfect pair of shoes for her. They light up, they are purple and they have Rapunzel on them (her all time fav princess). And she doesn't want them. She wants the ones we saw yesterday, at store number 4, the ones that don't light up and aren't even really purple. The best part is, this is just for the sneakers. She went shopping with Grandma yesterday and bought 3 dresses and a skirt so now we need to find shoes to go with them too. Urgh. At least Grandma already bought a backpack she loves and her optional supply list is only 3 things.

Re: Shoe shopping with DD....
My kids have a pair of gym shoes and a pair of sandals for the summer. They rarely wear their gym shoes now though. For school, they'll get a new pair of gym shoes and a pair of slip-ons. I don't care if their shoes match their outfits...
