Oh believe me, I know. I've tried so many before and they all give me horrible side effects. It's been really hard trying to find something that works

If your body doesn't do well with hormonal birth control, use condoms. I know it can be a bit of a pain, but it's nothing compared to an unplanned child that you're not ready for. You could also try a copper IUD (paraguard) that I believe is hormone free. You should really talk with your OB about options. As a grown adult, you need to take charge of your own life!

  • Perhaps look into NFP (natural family planning). It's not the same as the rhythm method, which is inaccurate and unreliable. There are a few methods, but I think the sympto-thermal is most reliable. It combines observations of all your body's signs to figure out when you will ovulate, and pinpoint it to begin with. No hormones, injections, side effects, etc. You can look into the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. The CCL ( Couple to Couple League) offers classes, although it is slightly different than the book. And it's religious based (Catholic). We use it, and have not had any problems. And I find there to be many benefits.
  • I'm sorry you are scared right now. I know this type of situation can be really stressful, especially with such a young baby at home. We thought we were done at two and number three came along a little unexpectedly. It was not what we had planned for but I am so glad it worked out the way it did. Hope all works out for you :)
