What size diapers?

DS has been in size 5 diapers for a long time and they still fit but lately I feel like they may be getting a little snug. He is 27 lbs and has a thinner build. The size 6 says 35 lbs plus. I know that is just an estimate. I did try a size 6 diaper on him once and it seemed long at the bottom. That deters me from going up a size since I think he already is starting to not like diapers on him all the time. The last thing I want to do is make him feel more bulky. Just curious if you have a kid around this weight what size they are in. He is also about 25 mos.

Ps what is the biggest size diapers go up to? I only saw 6's. Believe me, my DS better be out of diapers before he goes too much higher. lol

LO was in size 6's around 27 pounds and was there for about a year.  Then we potty trained at 2 1/2 years old.

  • I should add, if he grows out of the size 6's before he is potty trained, then ideally he would go to pull ups - which go through size 5T I believe.

  • I'd say go to a 6. My kids have NEVER EVER met the "weight estimate" ever. My 22lb baby (1yo) is in a size 5, and has been for a few months. My 2.5 year old is in 6's and has been for about a year. He is CURRENTLY 31lbs or so, and like I said he's been in 6's for a year.

  • My DD is 2.5 and has been in size 4's for about a year now! She's 29 lbs, so she's just a little peanut.  I'm thinking she will get potty trained before we ever get to size 5.

Must be different body types. :) My 3.5 year old, who is in the process of potty training, is also about 29-30 lbs. But she's been in 6's for about a year.

  • We cd until this spring except for overnight. He's been in size 6 overnights for a year. He's a heavy wetter. The CDs could not hold one wetting period anymore so he went to size 5 at about 28 pounds. He's 32 or 33 pounds now and wears either a 5 or a 6.
  • My LO is 30lbs and fits into size 4s still. We got some size 5s but they are kind of bulky on her and the pee has leaked right out even after I roll the tips down.

  • Nephew potty trained at 28 months.  He was in size 4 diapers.  I do believe they go up to size 7, but none of mine have needed anything above four.
  • I just switched my 21 month DS to size 6 in Huggies.  He's about 28 lbs, but very tall.  I too was surprised when I saw the size 6 say 35 lbs!

  • I found this that may help you: https://diaper-sizes.org/. It depends on the brand of course, but this list hasd huggies, pampers, luvs, and fisher price on it.
  • Oh and my son is about 25lbs, still in a size 3  Pampers. We use a sz 4 at night.
