Trouble TTC

XP: Trigger shot (Siggy warning!)

Hi Ladies!   I have never introduced myself over here but I suppose I should.  I have been trying for over a year to conceive number 2 and have had several chemicals along the way.  We are now seeing an RE.  Here is my post from TTGP and any insight would be much appreciated!  Thank you!

Hi ladies,
I just had a quick question.  I am now graduated to seeing an RE since my last post.  I did not get to him in time to start medication this cycle but I went in at CD 11 and was able to get an US and he decided with the folllies I had to have me trigger the next day with Orvidrel.  He told me to not test till 12 days past the trigger shot so I know I should listen to that and I am trying. I am really trying.  But any ladies here have some experience with the trigger shot?  At what point was it gone?
Thanks!

Re: XP: Trigger shot (Siggy warning!)

  • Sorry that you find yourself here, but hopefully some of the ladies can be  of help.

I know that a lot of women will test out their trigger shot to know exactly when it is out of their system. For some people,it's as soon as 3-4 days, but for others (like me) it has lasted for up to 12 days past trigger. Is your RE having you go in for betas if you make it to a certain DPO?  If not, I would personally wait till 14dpt just to be sure.

GL and hope your stay is short!

  • My trigger shot lasted 12 days I believe. Like GG said, I would wait until 14 dpt to be safe.
