I read this article this morning, and even though I know this tragedy is not anything any of us WANTS to think about, it's a good idea to come up with ground rules before you need them...I don't plan on having anyone watch LO for awhile, but we will have grandparents watching DS while we are in the hospital...It amazes me how many common sense things need to be stated outright. Like, no MIL, you cannot drink a bottle of wine while watching DS (a glass would be ok, but she never stops at one...)...My parents just have track phones and din't even seem to know how to answer them, but MIL is constantly connected...as are ALL the teenagers (and 20 years olds too)...I am amazed by how many times we have to tell our employee to put away her phone. I would ask sitters not to bring their phones at all, but DH & I don't have a landline...

But i can honestly say the worst thing thats happened while i had them in my care was that the one year old bit his brother hard enough to bruise him. And this happened while i was nursing.
Other than that, I read this article and took home a lesson more about common sense than smart phone use.
