Anyone seen a Chiro?

Hi ladies! I Know several pregnant women see a chiropractor for adjustments to possibly help a baby flip. I don't have that problem...as he is already head down and in good position. Is it ideal to still have adjustments done to help with pelvic alignment or could that be harmful? I guess I don't know if its needed but would like to know some experiences some of you may have with it helping get the baby "engaged" or even release tension? My husband works for a chiro so I would get the adjustments for free but I am rather skeptical if it isn't "needed". TIA!

I've been having adjustments since 20 weeks.  Doing it every 2 weeks now that I've entered third trimester.  It's not harmful to have it done so late- it helps even out your pelvis which helps baby descend and/or get into ideal position.

It truly feels amazing for your hips and a nice back crack is always wonderful.

My baby was head down and in a "good position" for ages. Yet I had about four false labor starts from 38-40w and no real labor. I was exhausted and frustrated and my doula finally convinced me that something had to be up with baby's position or my pelvis and sent me to a prenatal chiro. I went into labor six hours after my adjustment.

I'll never know if the adjustment was the actual trick needed to get baby better positioned to put me into labor, but the coiincidence is convincing. And it can't hurt. Do it!

That is awesome!! I bet it really was just what you needed! I'm going to do it next week ;) i havent had any false labors or anything but im sure it will benefit. how far along were you when you went into labor?

  • I did the Webster technique with my chiro from 36 - 40 weeks. My first baby was posterior and this one was not. I don't know if it helped, but it definitely didn't hurt. I'd go if you can go for free. Generally, I find chiro care makes me feel better and reduces any back/hip pain.
  • It won't hurt anything and could very possibly help. If its free there's really no reason not to do it.

  • It's extremely helpful.  Not just to alleviate any pain you might be having, but having everything in alignment can help make your labor faster and easier!

  • I went to my first chiro appointment on Wednesday, and I already notice a difference in my level of comfort. Going again on Monday, and I plan on going twice a week until the baby comes. Hopefully this will make a difference when it comes time to give birth.

  • I'm hoping to go tomorrow. I've had excruciating right hip pain for the past few weeks, and the induction I really don't want is scheduled for Wednesday. I'm terrified (I've never been, and am skeptical in general), but at this point I'm willing to give it a try.

I really hope the "it can't hurt, can only help" comes true!!

  • I've been going every 1-3 weeks since week10 of pregnancy to help with back discomfort. Best decision ever.

  • I've been going weekly since almost the beginning.  It's helped me a lot and I haven't been in pain like other pregnant friend I've known.  I've also heard it will help with my L & D to be properly aligned.
  • Oh go! You will love it. I get adjustments from 20 weeks on, and within a week of giving birth me and baby both have adjustments done. Tremendous help with bringing my body back into alignment and same with babys body, after such a journey they need a little help:)

I was 4cm and 80% the day before I went into labor. I was 3-4 and 70 the week prior.

  • I went throughout pregnancy and I will probably continue to go the rest of my life. Being adjusted doesn't only help with any pain u feel, but it helps your spine align with your brain so the right messages are occurring helping your body function. It had opened my eyes and I have not taken any meds since going, not during or after birth - not even Tylenol or regular aspirin. I feel awesome
