Any specific potty you recommend for potty training a boy? I have not started yet, but may just ease into it. Also how do you clean them? Can u put a bag in them? Ha I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm grossed out too...
We really like the simple ones that go directly on the adult potty. They have extra big splash guards so that pee doesn't fly out everywhere. For a portable potty, you kind of need to figure out what will work for your child. We have a simple bright starts one that we keep in the trunk of the car. We also had a Cars one that we actually did not like at all. Our son loved it because it had a lever that made car noises when it was pulled. But it wasn't very good for a splash guard.
BabyBjorn Simple, easy to clean. Or a potty ring. At this point my son just like to sit on the big potty (point him down) or the little portable potty. He likes to dump the pee in the toilet.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
We have the baby bjorn at the house and we also bought new toilet seats that have a child seat included that way no bulky potty seat that you have to find a place to store, you can buy them on amazon on at lowes. My son likes to stand when he pees.
We bought this Kalencom seat to keep in the back of the car or have when we are out and about.
We used a seat on our toilet with a stool. We have a Sesame Street one that makes sounds and has a raised front piece for boys to keep pee in the toilet. It worked great for us, but now DS sometimes prefers to stand or just sit on the normal toilet.

I highly recommend something like this:
