Re: FFFC....make 'em good!!

  • My confession- I am not looking forward to visiting my in-laws at the end of the month for the reasons listed below:

    1. MIL smokes like a chimney inside her house and I do not want to expose dd to this or for her to get any residue on her.

    2. FIL openly likes porn pages on FB and it creeps me out.

    3. I am bummed that we are spending over a grand on this vacay when we usually take a cruise or go somewhere fun.

But, I know it is all for DH and he is awesome so I will reluctantly go. Vent over.

  • @jackiemxoxo, you aren't staying with them are you?  I would not expose Morgan to that much smoke if I could help it.  I'm sorry you aren't looking forward to it.

  • One of our staff people's last day is today.  I'm actually a little relieved that she chose to quit on her own, rather than us having to do performance improvement plans/etc. because it's less work for me. Because, really, it's all about me, right? :)

@j3nnyb, I feel the exact same way about Morgan!!  She has baby chub in all the right places but when people mention her "fat thighs" or "chubby arms" and "buddha belly" I feel the momma bear in me come out.  My baby isn't fat, she's perfect!!!  I know people aren't calling her fat but with MY weight issues it is hard to hear that about a perfectly normal sized baby!

    I couldn't agree more. :)

  • My confession is - next week, my work is hosting a conference and they are several folks from all over the are country coming in and everyone is super excited about it. I am honestly dreading it. It's going to be a logistical nightmare between daycare, pumping, traffic, and being away from home in the evenings (it's only a couple nights, but still). Plus, the prep on our end has been really stressful and unorganized (the person in charge of planning this was fired recently, so it got started and that was about it). I am a hard core planner, so it's irritating, because I could have had this whole thing done weeks ago if I'd known. Ugh! I am already ready for next Friday! Vent/confession over.

On a happy note, my boss said I can take a mental health day the week after, so that's nice.

  • I love my step daughters dearly but I'm ready for them to go home. My husband is in denial about the youngest of the two and thinks nothing's wrong but I really think she's ADD. I can't discipline them the way I would my baby and it makes it so they walk all over me. I just want it back to normal.

  • My inlaws have graciously volunteered to add 5k to our budget to purchase DH a replacement car. FIL told DH last night that they strongly feel that he needs to get financing for the new car. We are debt free (other than the house) and have been for almost 3 years and have no interest in taking out a loan for something we have the cash for. FIL basically DH we're stupid for not getting the car financed so we can up our credit score....
My FFFC is I wish I could tell them I am sick and tired of all their BS and that they can see their granddaughter when they grow up and stop playing all their mind games....but I can't do that. I can't put DH in that awkward position and I can't deny DD time with her grandparents even if they drive us (me and DH) insane....

  • My FFFC is that I wish Morgan would sleep more during the day so I could get stuff done!  As it is I put her in her highchair and move her from room to room with me but she gets bored so quickly that I can't get everything done.  It's frustrating sometimes.

  • I'm late to the party here, but this morning I got mad at DH (who stupidly made a rude comment to me after I was up half the night with a teething baby). I glared at him and that was all it took to make him retreat to the basement and work there most of the morning. I just let him stay down there bc I knew he was afraid of my wrath... I sort of like it that way.  >:)

I used the excuse that I don't want to wake DD while sleeping so I don't move around to get things done. Then when she wakes she is pretty distracting. It takes me a while.

I do this, too. Or I might "accidentally" take a nap when he does!

  • I'm friends with a girl on facebook who I went to high school with and whose hubby is in the Air Force (mine is an engineer in the Army). My hubby and her hubby both deployed around the same time. Her husband is deployed for 4 months, mine for 9. Everyday, she posts her double digit countdown to him coming home along with some status about missing him and yada yada. I just want to scream that her husband's deployment is 4 months and he does maintenance on planes....AND you're almost done with your deployment. Try a 9 month deployment or how about a husband whose job it is to go poke around looking for IEDs and bombs. Or how about he's missed your first anniversary and will miss Thanksgiving, and your son's first Christmas and birthday. 4 months my ass. I get it a deployment is a deployment and we're supposed to support each other, but it's sooooo hard when she's always putting sh*t out there.
  • I don't want to go to my nephews birthday party because it's a three hour drive and it means I haveto wake up at 730 instead of 10.... gr.
