I scheduled a consult to begin the testing and get info on TTC #2. When I scheduled, I asked if we could bring LO to meet the RE and the scheduler said sure and gave me a time slot at the end of the day.
The RE was absolutely delighted to meet him. We took a picture with all of us and he reminded us 3x to email him a copy, and wrote down his (work) email address on one of his cards. The nurse told me that people never bring their babies in, some former patients send a picture but that it was really nice to hold a baby they helped to create. She said it can get depressing since they deal with IF all day and as soon as someone gets happy BFP news they are shipped off to the OB-GYN. I sent him the picture today and he replied back asking if it was ok for him to forward it to the embryologist because they never get to see the "finished product," only a few microscopic cells.
Unrelated, but the RE said the embryologists now have a time lapse camera on each petri dish, so at ET you get a short :30-1:00 minute video of the sperm meeting egg and then growing. At my ET I got a still shot of 5 cells, the video sounds neat.

Re: took LO to the RE
That is cool! I bet the reason most don't do it is for fear that they don't want to bring their LO into the waiting room with couples suffering from IF. That was my thought process anyway. However, the last time I was at an RE's office (last week) it must have been baby day because there was a set of twins and another very pregnant lady. It didn't bother me, though. But I never was one who was like, "I can't be around babies or preggos!"
The only thing that ever really annoyed me while I was going through IF was a co-worker who thought our entire office should revolve around her pregnancy...but that would have annoyed me regardless of IF.

Hi, I've been active on this board in the past, but haven't been around in about a year. I hope it's alright that I'm answering.
I'm really glad you posted this! We will have our first u/s of #2 next week and I don't have a sitter for my 18mo so we'll have to bring her to the RE's office. I was really nervous about having her around others who are affected by IF, but your post made me feel like it could be something positive.
Thanks!
We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And HOPE does not dissappoint.
