My husband and I were set to go to our breastfeeding class on Wednesday night. I had been out with my mom all day doing girl things (really just running around without the boys) and she dropped me off at Firehouse Subs where I would meet my husband and then we would go to class. As I was getting out of the car - ever so gracefully as always - my mom thought she saw a hole in my pants. I thought that it was probably where the pants meet the prego-belly part of the pants (a couple pairs of my pants tend to get holes there). I told her that I would check it out and it was probably no big deal. So, when we got into the restaurant, I went to the bathroom to check out the situation. There wasn't a hole at the top of my pants there was a hole THE SIZE OF THE GRAND CANYON IN THE CROTCH OF MY PANTS that ran up the seam.
Oh my goodness. I wanted to cry, but I knew that wouldn't do any good. I told my husband that he had to get his sandwich to go and then we had to run to Target before class. He didn't believe me, so I had to take him back in the corner and bend over and show him the humongous gaping hole in my pants. So, we ran to Target and I went inside on a whirlwind shopping spree picked up a skirt, a dress, and a shirt. I just kind of grabbed things and then went to pay. I was so flustered because I thought we would be late to class. I changed in the car at the stop lights. It was everything I could do to keep from crying and laughing at the same time.
My husband was very stoic through this whole fiasco. He ate his sandwich in the car while I was in Target. He didn't say much while I changed at a stop light. He didn't even complain that we ended up being a couple of minute late to class. Then he said that maybe I should get some stretchy pants (to his defense, I think he meant this to be helpful...but lately he hasn't been able to say much without hurting my feelings for one thing or another...I think he is just a victim of the pregnancy super hormones).
This is the new outfit I ended up in. Not bad for grabbing things off the rack in 15 minutes.
