Hi all! Almost done with our nursery and it's time to put curtains in. I like the look of a full length/long curtain but is it silly to buy these because once the baby becomes mobile it might be dangerous? Any sugggestions? TIA!
We are doing floor to ceiling and following what the blog Young House Love did for their nursery. Make sure the curtain rod is installed at the studs so it really holds, and then the curtain is held by clips. So if the kid even tries to go swinging, it will pull the curtain down before he can get hurt or the wall gets damaged.
I am an interior designer and so I know the rule is to do drapes to the floor, however, it just wasn't practical in my nursery. I have a bookcase in front of one window that comes up to the sill and stuff in front of the other one too. We went a few inches below the sill because I had the same worry. Ours are however clips and screwed into the studs. I think it looks great personally and am not upset I didn't do them to the floor.
