Determining the difference between EW CM and semen....

So, during my fertile period last month we had a LOT of sex. During my fertile period just before I O'd i noticed lots of "wetness", but it is really hard for me to figure out the difference between the "wetness" of CM and the semen dripping out. If we have sex at night and then go to sleep, a lot of times I can feel the stuff dripping out of me the entire next day. I am just starting to chart (first month on fertility friend) and I took the FF class online to become familiar with CM, but this issue was not addressed. Do any of you have trouble differentiating between semen and EW CM?

- FF said that semen and EW CM are similar in their make up b/c EW CM needs to be similar in order to help with the transport of sperm. There lies the problem for me....its hard for me to tell the difference.

Check your CM before you have sex, maybe like 24 hours since the last time you had sex. Also, dig up in there and see if what you pull out is different than what is dripping out of you. Semen is less stretchy and more white (less clearer) than my EWCM, but yours could look different.

In my experience, EWCM is much thicker. When you have it, you will know the difference. I was always unsure of what it would look like until I finally had it.

EWCM can vary in color and is stretchier, like a rubber band. Semen won't stretch from finger to finger the same way. But in general, it's not a good idea to check CM for several hours after sex. Also, pee after sex. Even if you're not prone to infections, it helps clear out all leftover semen. I also sit on the toilet for a few minutes to let it all drip out, that helps with the wet feeling after.
